Have you ever wondered what block you should use for one of your builds but you just cant seam to make it work with any block?
Have you ever needed to use Command Blocks to change the texture of a block but your code ends up taking just too much space that it doesn't work?
do you want to make your own "Custom" Blocks? or are your VMC Bugs just too BIG?
Well what if I told you that you could? If you could create your own custom blocks without the need of "Texture Packs"? And that you don't need mods to do this? That MINECRAFT Customization is at least 99%?
Now! Introducing "Pixel Blocks"! A new an fun way to customize your World! these 1x1x1 pixel sized blocks are able to be placed on any part of a block (Like Layers/ Snow layers) and can also be stacked on top of each other and beside each other, Still occupying the same block space! (Like Snow Layers) you could break each "Pixel Block" individually without breaking all of the other Pixel Block occupying the same space!
You could change the color of each individual Block by clicking on them with dyes. and you could also add up to 3 layers of dye color over each color. (Like you can with banners)
Now... you can only get them through a "/give" Command. you could choose if the Pixel Blocks are Transparent (You can click through them or go through them (Not Invisible)), Solid (You can't click through them or break them) or ? HIT Breakable (You can break them with a ? number of hits (you can choose how many times you can hit it before it breaks by editing the /give command))
The PBs Default color would be white.
Feel free to write your ideas to make this better and if you don't like something please write how to fix that or how/what you would change.
these Blocks are their own blocks and you could fit 4096 into one block space. (the completely hidden ones will disappear If their inside their block space and the Inside will be Halo)
to help you make you small details, your camorra will automatically zoom in.
This block is not intended to be used for full blocks, but you can use them like that if you so desire. And you can not change the color of every side if the "Pixel Block", only the hole individual "Pixel block".
And you don't use up any dyes just to change the color of them, you just change the color of the "Pixel Blocks".
Help me fight for chariots! And help me find a world where Players rom freely throughout the lands filled with animals and lush vegetation! The Game of MINECRAFT needs me! It needs YOU!!!
A standard block texture is 16x16, 16x16=256. Adding in all 6 sides, that's already 1,536. And THAT number assumes the block is hollow. It likely goes into the 5k+ range if you fill the block in. And since you can punch through them I'll assume their a sort of entity like Torches. This means you can easily fit over 5k into a single block space, chunks even more. It'd cause HUGE lag, grinding servers and players to a halt. Not to even mention how long it'd take for EVERY variation to be coded. And the fact that they can be placed invisible is basically a griefer's dream come true. They could place them on doors and trap you wherever they want.
There is also the fact that I don't think we even NEED something like this, everything it COULD do is already possible with the entire catalog of blocks already in the game. The only benefit I can see is getting around size limitations on pixel art.

Why not just use a texture pack? It would save a MASSIVE amount of time and dye. You're suggesting we use a dye for every single pixel to fill up an entire block? Even if you only fill up the outsides of the block, do you have any idea how many pixels that would take? Each side of a block is 16x16 pixels, and there are 6 sides. That means in order to make a normal-sized block, it would take 1,536 blocks and just as much dye. Even in creative mode where limits aren't an issue, you still have to individually place every single block. Do you have any idea how much time that would take? It already takes a lot of time to create a 16x16 block scale of a normal block, and you expect us to not only do that, but also use dye on each and every one? And, since you have to manually click each individual pixel, and Minecraft has no "Zoom" feature, misclicking would be very easy to do, and much more difficult to correct.
Plus, there's already a mod that lets you place any block at this 1x1x1 pixel scale, which is almost infinitely more useful because it allows you to compress massive redstone machines on only a few blocks, plus, the mod allows you to shrink down to the scale in order to have much more precise aim when building.
All in all, this requires way too much effort to do something you can very easily do with just a simple image editing program. If you need a tool dedicated to texture pack creation, look up Nova Skin. It's still in beta and has its flaws but it works well for its purpose and supports 1.9.

boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
1: Lag, you might say that because it's "one block" it won't cause lag. No, it would have to load every single little pixel block in the space, since they are all individual. This would cause game-breaking amounts of lag.
2: I would much rather make a resource pack than place 1 quadrillion individual pixels to fill a single room.
Why not just use a texture pack? It would save a MASSIVE amount of time and dye. you won't have the same block in two textures and you can't choose the shape.
You're suggesting we use a dye for every single pixel to fill up an entire block? It's made for people who want to be a little more creative with the smaller details. like cups, plates, food, trophies, smaller tables, better looking chairs, computer monitors, laptops, mousses, printers and so on so forth.
Even if you only fill up the outsides of the block, do you have any idea how many pixels that would take? that's why you can't change the pixel textures individually, only the entire Pixel Block. and why when you hold it your camorra zooms in.
Each side of a block is 16x16 pixels, and there are 6 sides. That means in order to make a normal-sized block, it would take 1,536 blocks and just as much dye. To use the "Pixel block" is a choice. If you would rather use Other blocks instead of using this is your choice. you decide if you want to go through the trouble of adding detail to your builds.
Even in creative mode where limits aren't an issue, you still have to individually place every single block. Do you have any idea how much time that would take? As a creative builder I realy don't care about how long it takes to finish anything. I would rather Spend my time on small details.
It already takes a lot of time to create a 16x16 block scale of a normal block, and you expect us to not only do that, but also use dye on each and every one? Their not meant to be used as regular blocks, their made for finer details that you can't make with full sized blocks.
And, since you have to manually click each individual pixel, and Minecraft has no "Zoom" feature, misclicking would be very easy to do, and much more difficult to correct. That's why I staited that you automatically zoom in while your holding it.

All in all, this requires way too much effort to do something you can very easily do with just a simple image editing program. You cant change the shape. If you need a tool dedicated to texture pack creation, look up Nova Skin. It's still in beta and has its flaws but it works well for its purpose and supports 1.9. Are you only thinking about texture packs? With "texture pecks" you can't have the same block in two textures. "Pixel blocks" allow you to customize your own blocks so that you don't need to change one block to something else.
If your using a chiseled sandstone block because of it's texture, and you want to make a similar textured block with a couple of indication. a resource pack won't help.

1: Lag, you might say that because it's "one block" it won't cause lag. No, it would have to load every single little pixel block in the space, since they are all individual. This would cause game-breaking amounts of lag. Not if you use them wisely. (Just like you would with Redstone and/or Entities Just not as entities, but more like Snow layers)
2: I would much rather make a resource pack than place 1 quadrillion individual pixels to fill a single room. It's not made fore Full Block Uses. or to be used very often. just the smaller details like: Small cups, forks knives spoons, plates, bowls, food. smaller tables & chair (with more details), fake animals/custom animal statues, better looking cars (At the right scale),Computer monitors, mousses, Laptops, Christmas tree decorations And more. (Just the small stuff you can't make using other blocks or textures that you think look bad otherwise)
I know I said many reasons but I'm too lazy so eh I'd love to answer the rest Please.

I know that they would cause lag. But the "Pixel Blocks" wouldn't cause any more lag than Redstone, Entities, signs, Banners, Redstone Variants Blocks or Mods. But sense they would still cause lag, you can only get them through Commands. and they aren't for Big uses, but just t give a little bit if detail. (For small things) (Not to be used to often).
If you don't want your world to lag too much, Don't use it too muck!
Help me fight for chariots! And help me find a world where Players rom freely throughout the lands filled with animals and lush vegetation! The Game of MINECRAFT needs me! It needs YOU!!!
Keep in mind, even if you only place a single pixel block, the game will convert all other "pixels" in the block into air, or else it would be impossible to place other blocks. This means, no matter what, the game will have to convert one single block into 4096. To put that into perspective, that's 1/16 of an entire chunk. With this in mind, the game would have to severely cut back on its own rendering system, which would hinder the game as a whole.
Beyond that, who are you to say "no one wants to go through the trouble of installing them [mods]?" Clearly, a lot of people want to go through the "trouble" of installing them. Literally, all it is is a copy and a paste. And sure, not everyone can install mods, but those who can't are playing the console edition which, guess what, has even greater limits on performance. The console edition has mob limits, entity limits, and much more restrictive world limits for a reason. It cannot handle even more.
You clearly do not fully understand how the game's programming works. Each block requires a series of bits to keep track of what block is there, what direction its facing, what it's doing, how it affects light, what texture it should display, etc.
Minecraft was never intended to be a detailed game, it's a game entirely comprised of blocks for a reason: It's supposed to be simplistic. Mojang wants to inspire creativity through limitation, such as using stairs and signs to make a chair rather than just adding a "chair" block.

Minor nitpick, but due to edge and corner blocks being visible from two or three sides simultaneously, the total blocks would only be 1,352, I believe. The point about lag still stands, though.

It is because of the INTENSE lag that it will generate if this will be included in Minecraft.
