When you play a game, you start to get bored with things. In this case, viewmodels. If you dont know what viewmodels are, they are basically the model of the weapon/item you are holding. In Minecraft, this would be the pickaxe in the corner of the screen when you are holding a pickaxe. This idea is to add option to edit the viewmodel to your liking. I have made some examples of what im talking about to hopefully make them more clear.
Here is the default: (Not the actual default, but a re creation)
Option 1: Rotation. This could allow you to change the rotation of the model.
Option 2: Location. This could change where the viewmodel is on the screen.
Option 3: Size. This could allow you to change the size of the model.
Option 4: Opacity. This would allow you to make the viewmodel transparent/not appear at all.
Option 5: Viewmodel Is World Model. This would, instead of having a viewmodel, just use the model of the character. (There is a mod for this Here)
Option 6: Show Hand With Held Items. This could be a mix between default and option 5.
Other options: A way to edit the way the when you look around, the viewmodel moves. A way to turn viewmodel bobbing on/off no matter whether or not bobbing is on or off. A way to make the viewmodel movement move slower/faster.
I have never gotten bored with the view model. It's constantly changing what's in it, so I can't be bored of what I'm seeing. This seems like a lot of work and additional options that few people would edit for no particular reason. Are there any other games that do this?
Source Engine games have this. Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal, just to name a few.
What, Valve games? I have nothing against Valve, but that's one barely used feature by one developer. I had never even heard of a view model option before this post.
