so something that makes minecraft unpleasant is how much of a pain the current inventory is to use (seriously I spend so much time just moving things in and out of chests)
and It's weird because I always saw this very simple simple little fix to drastically reduce item management time.
I've searched for mods because it was such a simple idea and I assumed it was already done before.
it wasn't
anyways~
when you have the chest screen open:chestfront: :
- Double clicking on an item or item stack in your inventory would automatically place that item in an empty chest slot
- Double clicking on an item or item stack in your chest would automatically place that item in an empty inventory slot
In your normal inventory screen :
- Double clicking on an item or item stack in your inventory would equip that item into either
' An empty inventory slot or
' Replacing the item in the first equip slot, the second item double clicked from the
inventory (in the same inventory "session") would replace the second equip slot and so on
until all slots are filled
- Double clicking on an armor item would equip it
those little tweaks right there.............
seriously x_x
also less important but things I'd still find useful
- A simple "take all" (items from chest) button and "store all" (items into chest)
- A "craftable items" button in the craft menu which would show you a list of items you can craft with your current inventory, clicking on said item and automatically arrange the materials necessary into the crafting grid
(can you belive I actually don't craft leather armor anymore because of how long it takes to craft a full set versus how long it lasts?)
________________This last suggestion is pretty ridiculous and to be honest I sort of dis-like it__________
- the number keys would load and save equipment "presets"
Holding control and clicking a number would map your equiped items to that preset (your equiped inventory not your armor). Pressing the number again without control would make the equiped inventory screen be inaccessible for a moment, with a loading bar in place of it, make your character un-able to move, while backpack rummaging sounds are being played, when the loading bar finishes: (I'm thinking a set amount of seconds)
the items you had mapped to that preset would be equiped (if you had them)

So any thoughts on any of these? the last tweak might be a bit unreasonable, but the first are dire x_x
I love this. Not the last part... I don't like that, but everything else is great! Especially the take/store all button, it takes a long time moving my 3 double chests full of coal!
I like the first ones, good ideas. it would also be cool to be able to hold shift down or something to add to the stuff you want to move, (like holding control in windows to select more that one file) it would also be helpful to have a trash button instead of having to through it in lava.
I'm also seriously disappointed =(
despite all of my searching before making this topic I half expected/hoped someone here would reply with a mod link and call me stupid
Someone should mention that single-clicking a item then dragging over to a stack doesn't work well. You have to click again to move that item into the stack.

I'm to lazy to get used to this, and I'm ok with the current one so I guess I'm
errrr.... what?
>_>
I'm basing this "double click to store items" idea of of stalker
a game that came out in 2007
minecraft came out in 2009 (and that's just it's classic release)

still not implemented =/

I never found that to be very useful, or useful at all really....
