What Microsoft does not realize, is that they have the template for game that could ultimately destroy world of Warcraft. Bring a torrential flood of
new costumers and sell 10x the amount of merchandise if only they would appeal to a larger audience. Now while yes, this is a huge claim, Stick with
me and by the end of this article we should be on the same page; but first we have to understand what has made other games such huge
successes, we have to analyze why minecraft has a hard time carrying over to the older crowds; and only then can we propose the appropriate
adjustments.
Before the huge MMO phase, and MOBA style games came out, think back, to what were some of the more popular video games. Warcraft 3,
Age of Empires, Diablo 2 and Zelda Ocorena of time. What do all of these games have in common? I'll give you a hint, its the very same thing that
makes Minecraft popular. Warcraft 3, less than half of the player base didn't give two cares about the actual game of Warcraft but played an
endless supply of player made content. Age of Empires was huge because within an hour (or 6) you could create an extremely unique empire with
walls stretching far into the distance, As a kid i would play AOE for an hour, then go replay the game in my backyard with sticks for 2. Diablo 2
Brought customization and a unique story line. and Zelda felt free flowing in a unique and magical universe, with a bunch of cool ablitiies and races.
When World of Warcraft Came and took over the market, it wasn't because it was the most flashy, or had the most dungeons or the biggest map, it
was because you would have this character and bring it through this new world which was rich with content. You truely felt unique in a larger
universe...All the other MMO out there have tried to be flashier, bigger, or added more character customization. When none of those things made
wow Great, Wow was great, because it was easy to learn, hard to master, You felt like a nobody in this huge universe, but at the same time, you felt
unique.
So where does this all relate to Minecraft? Simple, The older player bases love to build elaborate castles, and dungeons, We love to build
cities and fortifications. Roads and Biomes, People are naturally creative and love building worlds. This is where minecraft has succeeded. But we
lose interest because there is noone to live in those cities...no real monsters to fight in the dungeons we build, and if we do put down a monster
spawner, there is still no unique interactions or story. There's not even a possibility for me to create a lore about trolls or orcs, elves or dwarves, aside
from books and structures. Hell surviving becomes a piece of cake, there's no real threat of danger when you have a group of people. And there's
nothing that makes my character any different from anyone elses. But before i move on to that topic. We want if/then trigger options, you've teased
us by giving us the ability to create worlds, now give us the ability to populate them, and create intrigue scenarios and quests, quest lines, with an
exclamation, an objective and a reward.
This brings us out of NPC/Quests/Triggers/Lore, because with it, we can provide a culture and breath life into our creations. So now the player
base themselves. The combat sucks...it sucks baaaad. I've quit the game because of countless promises to fix it. And then they release this new
update and it's clear that they have no intention of making all the 10 year olds upset. People want a combat system akin to a Zelda style game,
Where you still have your hack and slash, but with a plethera of unique abilities, items and their fun interactions. Imagine the Quests and dungeons
people could build with a hookshot. And then i would suggest the addition of Classes and or magic as well, to further flush out unique character
design / responsibilities. Imagine 2 players, combat simliar to Zelda N64 in the front line, with another 2 in the back one casting spells the other with a variety
of ranged abilities. They would be journeying through a ogre camp that was built by another player that was populated by a bunch of unique
monsters.
Every game should be examined in 3 parts. First the map, Minecrafts map and block system is perfect for customization, and exploration. However
it falls very far behind in NPC interactions/Lore. And Fails to provide an engaging and in depth combat system. You solve those last 2 parts of the
equation, and people will be coming out of the wood works to create player based content for you. If done right then almost every server would turn
into it's own Skyrim style adventure that would create such a following and fanbase that Microsoft would be swimming in merchandising money.
Now i understand that this would be a large undertaking, but in my oppionion it would crush the gaming market. And until i see an actual combat system, or an NPC system thats worth 26 dollars, my minecraft will continue to be on it's shelf, collecting dust.
Anyways tell me what you guys think, id be more then happy the eloborate on any aspect. I have written out pretty much everything. But i wanted to be pretty general for the first post.

Could you format this a bit better? It's too hard to read as it is.
This is hard too read and is copy right
No, no, no. Not making Minecraft a MMORPG.
No support.
Minecraft is a sandbox survival game, not an MMORPG.
