The "Burnt Log" is a new block that would be created when a log is burnt down by fire. It is not flammable. Breaking the burnt log would drop a piece of charcoal (or more with the fortune enchant).
The idea here is to encourage the player to produce resources (charcoal in this case) by interacting with the world, instead of with a device such as a furnace. It would also give flint-and-steel another use, since fire currently has only a handful of uses.

This, is, overpowered. Flint and Steel has 64 durability. Assume each fire burn 10 wood, then for each Flint and Steel.
64 durability * 10 wood = 640 charcoal
640 charcoal is too many for one Flint and Steel. And both Flint and Steel are easy to obtain. So No Support until you fix the mechanics.

I'm a programmer. I use C/C++, BASIC, Assembly, and Python. If i sound too technicial, that's because it's the way i think.
I don't think so. It has potential to be very detailed. Just add some pics, more text, and there you go.
If it has potential to be very detailed you were supposed to put it in anyway.. as it stands it is one single item with effectively one purpose besides aesthetics.
As said before, this would be extremely overpowered. I'm curios on how the burnt logs will look like though. I feel like it could be a great decorative block
Partial Support!

My Suggestions
This should probably be in the small ideas section..
