Deer: deer should be similar to ocelots in the manner in which they run away from players that get to close or move too fast and can jump up to 3 blocks high. They would drop 1 deer hide, 1-3 venison, and rarely they would drop their antlers, which grow in random configurations similar to chorus trees, yet still being realistic.
Bears: during the night bears should be like wolves and only be hostile to the player if attacked and, but during the day they run away like ocelots. they would drop 1-3 teeth, 1 bear hide and bear claws rarely, which a player can equip to walk on ice faster.
I really don't see this as a wishlist. I see these as two forest mobs, and thus are related enough IMO. Although, it would make more sense if the title was changed to something reflecting this. Anyway, to the suggestion...
This is not the kind of suggestion that would need to be update specific. I wouldn't mind having these mobs, but the deer seem a bit useless for the effort required to catch them. I like the unique quality of the bears, but what do bear teeth and bear claws actually do? You say they exist but they don't actually do anything.
I like the idea of deer because they could contrast the large farms that most people set up. Deer could respawn more frequently, but couldn't be bred or farmed, and would run away if approached. In the early game, it would be viable to hunt deer before you could set up a proper farm.

The OP didn't say either deer or bear are forest animals. And both animals don't have any relation (same drop, dependancies, etc). So i see this is a wishlist.
Anyways, both animals seem not needed. I'll wait for details before support or not. So i say Support Pending

The OP didn't say either deer or bear are forest animals. And both animals don't have any relation (same drop, dependancies, etc). So i see this is a wishlist.

Deers are just copying Ocelots, and so are... bears? Why would bears act like ocelots, that's just out of nowhere. All of this is just vague and loosely slapped together. And there's no sense in picking a version in which to place these in.

I agree, animals now are too easy to approach and kill. Why not have it be a challenge? And if deer dropped antlers you could use them to show your skill.

Please tell me you're joking. No one cares about how many antler sprites I'm carrying. All I need is a couple arrows and the deer/bears are just corpses. So where exactly is this... "challenge"? You still haven't presented any objective reasons for these mobs to exist.

They should have them so experts at archery like you say you are have more to say for your work than a couple pieces of leather and beef, instead you have to be stealthy and precise to get some rare items.

It's not a challenge. All i need is some lava, trapdoors, and a flat ground.
Show off. The dragon egg is MUCH better than this.

This could be in 1.9.1 (Probably not because they don't take many suggestions here). This is a wish lists that are not allowed!
