Whenever I load a new Minecraft world it always seems to be that the world is just one big continent filled with lakes and large rivers that we call "oceans". I suggest we make deep oceans and oceans twice as larger than other biomes so then the world doesn't seem like an endless biome merged wasteland and more like a world with more continents and vast lands to explore through sailing.

Then you're quite lucky, when I find oceans they're usually large rivers. Most maps have more land than ocean which is a problem for me.

Well, it kinda makes sense. I mean, yeah, it's unrealistic. But there's far, far less things you can do in an ocean then on land. I personally would find it super annoying to have to cross gigantic oceans to get to somewhere new.
Minecraft isn't meant to be realistic. This may seem to make sense, but it could make the game much more boring.
Sorry, no support.

Personally, I hate oceans, every time I make a world it is full of water, water and... look at that! more water!

I never intended the suggestion to make it so that oceans are unbearably vast and endless but slightly larger so then biomes and land doesn't seem so merged. I would hate it if it were big enough to make people bored but I thought oceans were too small and too rare now. And as Angelxtilon stated it mushroom islands are very uncommon and could be more common if ocean size was increased a tad bit.

I already end up running into massive freaking oceans. While it would be more realistic, it doesn't add much to the game other than additional travel time. No support. :/

Dude I envy you, all my maps are just clumps of land.

I guess. I'd just prefer it if they added more stuff to fill it with, first, then enlarge it.
Oceans were ridiculously large in the past. They made them smaller because they were boring. Now that I don't have to travel far to find more land (where the actual gameplay occurs) I find myself more entertained.
Gameplay takes precedence over imagination-evoking surroundings in this case.
Why do you want bigger oceans? The smallest ocean is big enough for me. There's practically nothing you can do there except fish or make an underwater base, but you still need to find land to obtain the resources. Most of the fun stuff happen on land.
I wish the land was more separated into continents. I'd like to have a border so that I know where to stop exploring. It bugs me to never reach the end of it. I have studied maps in AMIDST for hours and failed to find a single sizable island more than 6 chunks from shore.
Howabout an option in the custom world options that lets you choose between four archetypes:
1.) land world (in which oceans are just big lakes)
2.) the current world, mostly land with big oceans
3.) mostly-ocean world with continents, like Earth
4.) oceanic, with some big islands amongst a vast endless sea

I want ocean content(thanks Möjang!), nether biomes(again thanks!!), and savanna passive mobs (meerkats incoming!?).

But oceans don't even offer anything now. Now they are covered in gravel. I used to take my water breathing helmet and go dig up clay blocks but now oceans literally have squids, water temples, and fishing. Thats literally all they offer. Why make them bigger?
Support. Before 1.7, perfect. Instead of just oceans, deep oceans, frozen oceans, and frozen deep oceans, there should be more biomes in oceans, such as coral reefs, trenches, coastlines, etc..

4 years ago, I started played MCPE/Minecraft in general. Now, I have MCPC, and I'm still not bored of the blocky sandbox indie. Cuz awesomeness! Got a problem with that?

Agree. So the ocean is no more sunken-plains-with-water.
