Also I added some new books and modified the OP and renamed it Version 1.2
I support, but someone would have to write the books! Correct? I suppose a contest of community written books would support community involvement of many Minecraft players, and it would be great to see player made footprints in the game client.
I would love for all of this to be implemented. Especially being able to write your own stuff for notes/books for others to read (would be great for libraries on multiplayer!)
I love this idea, it might be just a little complex(too many book). But the basic Idea is really well thought out, I hope this gets into the game! :smile.gif:

maybe you should make a minecraft history book (yes the WHOLE history of minecraft being indev, alpha, beta, blocks that been removed, etc...) maybe: -book

It should be so that if you have the book out you can right click to read, then in the top right corner theres an X to leave and the top left has a button to edit? I dont like the ink and quail idea, unless you craft the pen, it doesnt break but then you craft the jar and ink separate, maybe adding the ink jar to be just a JAR so it can be used for other stuff, but when you combine the ink sack and the jar, it make an ink well. OR we could just have the ink sack in our inventory, and it never runs out.
Multiple people can read the same book as long as its in a bookshelf, custom books need to be in you inventory to edit them so there is now way for mutliple people to edit it at once

I don't know if anyones already posted this but, the Nether Book is made with Netherrack, which requires you to have been to the Nether, and explains about portals and other Nether things, which you would probably already known of as you have been to the Nether
WOW! I fully support this in everyway! I remember during alpha when instead of the Mods and Texture Packs option you had Tutorial, but it was blacked out... This is basically a minecraft tutorial in the best possible way.
I have never given out a Notch head... here it comes..
