But once again the problem arrises with you argument: you have not listed any negative effects it would have on the game. Besides, you said "one zombie grinder and your rolling in leather" How is this a bad thing? Are you going to take all of that leather and make a nuclear bomb? Also, an addition to Minecraft does not have to be a game changer to be good. Are you agains being able to craft sandstone with sand, too?
A suggestion's worth should not be arbitrary. At no point should you say, "it doesn't hurt" when trying to argue for its use. You need to tell us why this is an improvement. Yes, your suggestion makes leather more available and gives us another use for rotten flesh. Those things are not reasons by themselves. Why does making leather more available in this manner improve the game? Why does giving us another use for rotten flesh improve the game? And why does this particular suggestion have to be the way it happens?
I would argue that leather does not need to be more available, and that rotten flesh does not need another use, or at least not this use. Is there some reason you think otherwise?

Yes. The tiers of armour are all screwed up. I think this goes to almost anyone that you will gather 24 Iron before 24 Leather. I will have hundreds of R. flesh before hundreds of Iron.
For one, it ruins the point of being able to make leather from rabbit hide.
There is still no logic at all in what you're saying. "Leather has very little uses, but let's add another way to obtain it!" The best you've given us is "well it wouldn't hurt." which proves nothing.
How exactly does it ruin the point of being able to make leather from rabbit hide? How is what I'm saying illogical? The best I've given you is in my last post.
Because then you can just use rotten flesh instead. Leather needs more uses, but adding a new way to obtain it does not add a use.
New Use =/= Obtaining
How about some thing like leather gloves, it would not give any protection but would neutralize damage from Thorns. Or, they could actually put a quiver in Minecraft, or make leather required in the shield recipe. Backpack that lowers movement speed and/or takes up the chestpiece slot? Leather capes? Banners require leather?

To get 24 leather with your suggestion, you need 96 rotten flesh. On average, requiring the death of 96 zombies. You'll get iron way before that. This does not fix the problem you see.

All of which have nothing to do with the current suggestion. If you want to make those suggestions, go ahead. I'd recommend avoiding backpacks and quivers, though, unless you've really, really thought it through and looked through the quiver/backpack suggestions to see what they've done wrong.
Quite frankly I'd much rather have stacks of leather than rotten flesh. Namely so I can build my library and put the frames to use as signs and such. Provided 1.9 did add a slight reason for rotten flesh's existence I still don't have much a use since I don't have an army of wolves. I'll wait on that until they improve the god awful wolf AI.

I'm sorry but you are just all over the place. These extra uses don't do anything. Just breed cows and maybe use a looting enchantment on them. Stiiiiil no need for this rotten flesh stuff.

So you are saying this would be underpowered? Also, it is not irrelevant to the current suggestion. If you saw the post from athingwithathing where (s)he said that obtainage =/= uses, you would understand
Yeah, it is horrendously underpowered. By "it" not being irrelevant, do you mean the part about it being underpowered or about the suggestions for rotten leather uses? If the former, then it is not irrelevant. If the latter, than it is irrelevant because this thread is about a new way to get leather, not a new use of leather.
You mentioned that usage ≠ obtainage. I was giving suggestions for usage to make this other form of obtainage more useful
I'm on the fence for this. Yeah it doesn't really hurt anything but it doesn't really help anything either. To me this basically amounts to changing the chance of something dropping from 10% to 10.1%. It is a difference but probably an irrelevant one. So I'm fine with this but I also don't care if it never gets added.
If Leather had more uses or Rotten Flesh was crafted into something different that has different uses I would be happier with the idea.

Ah, the sweet smell of circular logic. So I think it's safe to say you've accepted the fact that adding another way of getting something that has little use is pointless? Otherwise you wouldn't have suggested more uses for them.
At this point I don't understand what you're arguing, as every point you've given to defend the suggestion has been disproven.

Nothing has been disproven. What I am arguing is that you do not have a clear point. You are pandering between "It would add nothing," "It would be overpowered" and "This is underpowered." THAT is circular logic, and once again, will adding a new method of obtaining leather detract from your enjoyment of the game? It would certainly do the opposite to me. The reason I suggested those ideas can be explained with my last post. At this point, I can't tell if you are paying to the thread.
Except this is about getting a new way of obtaining leather. If you want to suggest a new usage, go ahead, make a new thread about it. But that is off topic since it doesn't add anything to the discussion and isn't related to the new way of getting leather at all.
YOU brought up the relationship between obtaining and using. It may have not been entirely relevant to the thread (but by forum rules it was not irrelevant), however, it was relevant to the comments on the thread.
Also, it would be nice if the thread creator help me back up his/her logic (no offense). I mean, am I the only one advocating behind this idea? C'mon, there are three people debating me right now, and your logic still stands...
So you are saying this would be underpowered? Also, it is not irrelevant to the current suggestion. If you saw the post from athingwithathing where (s)he said that obtainage =/= uses, you would understand
Yes, it is underpowered. Those specific suggestions have no bearing on this current suggestion. If they existed, it might be nice to have more leather, but currently they don't exist.
Nothing has been disproven. What I am arguing is that you do not have a clear point.
Guess I was just talking to myself this whole time then.
I'm actually starting to think you aren't being serious. I can promise you that every single post you made has been disproven, and you mostly reply with empty-calorie statements. I don't argue for the sake of arguing, and I'll even join someone's side if they bring up good points. You haven't brought up a single one.
You are contradicting yourself so hard that it's impressive. You can't just go "it would improve the game" and then back that up with a neutral, arbitrary and miniscule statement such as "it wouldn't hurt". Give me an objectively positive reason how this would improve the game.

Maybe 4 Rotten Flesh can become 1 Fiber, then 9 Fibers can be used to make 1 Leather! (although it seems overpriced).
Anyway, this is a good idea... sort of.
