We've all had that same problem, haven't we? You want more items but your inventory is filled to the brim, you can't carry any more items but you still want just one more item. Perhaps Jeb could implement some kind of backpack system of some sort. Now, it doesn't have to be a backpack exclusively, it could be a wallet that you could craft from leather. Or it could be an armour enchantment that gives your armour pockets to hold more items it. We've all seen the various mods adding items like these to the game, but having them in the vanilla versions would be so convenient.
However, this is just an idea, some people might not like the idea of having a larger inventory in minecraft as it would make the game too easy or that they like the inventory the way it is. And I am 100% okay with your opinions and I'm only making this to see what people think of having some sort of backpack system in minecraft, that's what the poll up there was for...
I do not support this. The inventory has 36 slots, plus spots for armor and the offhand slot. I have found that, if I leave items I don't plan on using in a chest, that I never even reach 36 slots.

Why does everyone think I don't have an avatar? Is there anyone who can see the one black pixel.
Please click the dragons, they need to grow. Also, my fully grown dragons can be found in my bio.
Between normal inventory and an Ender Chest I don't see a reason. This is an inventory management problem which is the player's fault.

Backpack suggestions or anything similar have never gotten their heads above the water. It's not necessary and ruins the point of chests and whatnot. Who's to say that backpack/wallet inventory isn't enough because that got full? Post #2 and 3 already made the points.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
This is what chests are for. To store away items that you don't immediately need. If you do that then you shouldn't fill up your inventory unless you're doing a very large amount of mining or digging. No support because this is not needed whatsoever.
We have 36 slots of portable inventory space and 4 armor slots, not to mention 27-slot storage chests that can be crafted for a very cheap cost. And that's not counting the later game items like Enderchests. The backpack suggestion threads have been eaten alive upon their creation, and will most likely never be a thing. And even if your slot count was increased to, say 45, what then? Would the community demand 54 slots? 63? 72, perhaps?
With my playing style (mining for days without end), I have run out of inventory space multiple times and fairly quickly but I don't think this is necessary.
You could have infinite inventory by having a backpack/wallet inside other ones. Chests are completely fine as a safe box of some sort to store items when your inventory is full and when you're done, you can transport it to your home (why have I never done this before?) plus they are fairly cheap.
I would like it if they re-implemented the quiver. If worn on the chestplate slot of the player, you get four additional spaces that can only be used to store arrows. Because let's face it: In the end-game, arrows clutter your inventory. Now, to make it a little more worthwhile to use, considering you'd be sacrificing some armor points, perhaps it could decrease the amount of time it takes to draw back your bow? I know it's a little off topic, but I think this is the right way to go about saving inventory space, rather than back-packs.

Not a bad idea but I myself would most likely never use it. Feel free to make a thread about this since I think that it could work. I wouldn't have a need for it but perhaps others might. The only way for this idea to happen is if you make a thread suggesting it.

I agree with the first two commenters.
P.S. Twice the inventory means twice the ragequit when the player falls into lava.
