Though Im' kinda on the fence about them stealing items from your hand.
On one end it could be very annoying, but on the other, it could make slimes an actual threat.
I also think the first idea should only apply to slimes underground (or have a separate loot table of items one spawned in swamps can have, but with more common items such as bones) and have a lower percentage overall.
However, there's a rare chance slimes can just steel the item from your hand.
Everything about the idea is fine except this part here.

This would be pretty cool and intersting for the slimes. But what happens if a player kills a big slime then it becomes to medium slimes. And then it became 4 slimes wouldn't that all killing might make the slimes a bit of a cheat? Giving the fact in total you killed 7 slimes in total? That will make slimes dropping more higher? And also the player may create a slime farm making it op don't you think?

Interesting, I suggest that the naturally spawning slimes have their rate increased, and the more precious dropped items be more rarer than usual. As for them picking up dropped items, there should be a limit on what they can pick up. Such as one or three.
(good idea - as slimes are rarer than other hostile , it's very suitable for them )
but what about littler slimes spawned after killing bigger slime ? i think the items inside the first one should be devided between them . one which gets the best loot , will try to escape or something .
also , shouldn't magma cubes do the same ? just with the difference than if you don't kill it in one piece , items inside it will burn (all visible when it's devided into 8 pieces when you hit them (like accordion))

That is so very easy to fix:
Roll the loot only for Large slimes. Naturally spawned Medium or Tiny slimes get no loot.
This is Medium Slime are not even 25% the challenge of a Large slime: the Large slime is definitely as though to kill as about 2 medium slimes, and that is before the Large Slime vsplits into at least 2 more medium slimes too. Tiny slimes don't even deal damage. It just would not make sense to give too good loot to weak enemies.
Then, when a Large slime is killed, ONE of its newly splitted medium slimes gets the item inside it. Then, when that Medium slime is killed, ONE of its newly splitted tiny slimes gets the item inside it.
In short, you only ever get only 1 loot item, PER each naturally spawned Large slime, and have to fight through the entire slime chain to get the item.

and items inside are determined by location. if low on the y axis, different ores appear. higher makes crops and dirt appear. man made makes things like sticks and stone bricks appear. in ice biomes, snow and ice. in the nether, netherack and quartz, etc. diamonds and other rare items have a very low chance of appearing (1%)
i dont think enchanted books and swords and anvils should appear, that would make slime farms too profitable.
slimes like this also only appear 25% of the time, and they can only pick up items if theyre empty.
and yes, as above, only 1 small slime drops an item.
You kidding? Swamp Slimes should have the rarer loot. Chunk Slmes can be farmed after all, so that would make for some powerful rare drops for an AFK grinder. Unless these drops required a Player to manually kill Slimes of course, but even then I feel like the loot from Chunk Slimes hould be less valuable then the loot from Swamp Slimes, simply because they can (possibly) be farmed for it.
On Topic: Good idea. What would be the chance of a SLime absorbing an item though? Or will only specific Slimes with a data tag be able to do so, similar to Zombies and Skeletons? Support.
I keep on forgetting about farms because I personally don't afk every aspect of my game.
I think both should have rare loot, but since swamp slimes are much easier to find naturally, then I feel they should have some more common drops.
I don't think slimes who traverse the surface exclusively would have ores and torches and other mining supplies in them.
A simple fix for afk farms such could work, such as either make player interaction required, or only when the slime spawns on stone/dark areas.
Of course, there's no 100% way to stop afk farms, really. I'm pretty sure you could farm swamp slimes, too, just not as effective, I guess. I don't like afk farms, they ruin fun.
I totally support this! Although the slimes with items inside of them remind me of "Bob" from that movie 'Monsters vs. Aliens'. He was this slime character that basically ate anything in sight.

I think that when a slime is split, our killed, its item is given to a random one of the slimes created by the split, and the item generation script is skipped with all slimes created by splits.

I like the idea, it's the first suggestion I heard that wasn't ridiculous. Plus, I think it'd be a great feature in Minecraft. Getting killed by a slime then having to take it down for your precious gear would fit in with the Combat Update since they're trying to make things harder for players. It'd be a real challenge to deal with that. Support.

So I have 2 suggestions of slimes:
1: They can spawn with items inside them. There's a 11% chance these kind of slimes will spawn. They will drop loot. The loot will be inside them.
These include:
Potions
Blocks
Coal, gold and Iron
Emerald
String
Swords tiers Wood to Iron
Enchanted books
Bows
Fishing Rods
2: Slimes have the ability to absorb items.
Most slimes require for items to be dropped on the ground.
Once killed, there's a guaranteed chance they will drop the absorbed item.
Smaller slimes spawned from bigger slimes have a guaranteed chance to drop no items.

What's the percentage of drops? It would be pretty OP to get a lot of potions while going on a slime killing spree. Other than that, Support.

But maybe make it so if they have lets say 4 items and they are a big slime, when they split, their items are separated equally if possible
Maybe, Slimes with tnt in them should explode on death?
Making clave slimes colored blue and then having the normal slimes would be nice, so you can tell what type of loot and slime you might get.
