Ok, to be plain and simple as possible, I think it would be a reasonably good Idea for a clock to be able to be hung on a wall by right clicking, like a torch. That way when you are heading outside, you can know without having to go to your workbench what time it is. Also, it would make it safer for the clock, because that way, if you die, it will be safe at home.
Several people have suggested you have to make a whole now item for it, with a whole new recipe, but wouldn't it just be easier for Mojang to make it just glue to the wall?

So yeah, that's just my Idea. I also have a few others... but them I will save for later.
A way to make it
Different ways...
Wool=redstone
*the stick will move constantly like a real hanging clock*

Edit: According to a person who will remain anonymous whether he likes it or not (Spoiler: He made the second reply), we could have it so there is a fancier clock, using redstone and a stick. this is his idea:

Dear anonymous supporter, I thought of this too, and I even thought of adding string so it would look like it was hanging. However, I didn't wan't Notch to completely have to make a new clock, where it would be easier for him to make it just glue to the wall. Also, thanks for your anonymous support. Yes, in line with my opinion that Minecraft needs more furniture/decoration items to alleviate the problem of empty houses. In addition, this one has an actual function - great!
Perhaps placing the clock on the wall would make it hang or mount, and placing it on the floor would make it into a grandfather clock kind of thing.
Maybe you'd have to craft a clock into a placeable clock block like so:
= wood or whatever material you want the clock embedded in = clock
Which when placed would just look like the material with a clock on one of the faces, perhaps with a slightly more ornate design.
Then a grandfather clock could easily be made just by putting a clock block on top of another wood block :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: there could be more applications for a clock block, like it could be programmed by right clicking on it to give a redstone power at a certain time or between certain times. This could be incredibly useful for a variety of things such as setting up a timer for TNT or something.
Also, maybe placing clock blocks together in a 3x3x1 space would make them meld into a single larger clock (so you could make badass clock towers for your castles or something). Maybe that's just overkill :tongue.gif:

eeeh.... lets just stick to my "Glue to the wall" Idea, it would be much easier to do, and if somethings going to require an epic amount of coding and building, ETC, there is a much less chance of it getting added. thank you for the life giving post, and although I do disagree, I respect your take on the matter.
I wonder if this is the actual original idea. Either way I support this on any thread made on it.
