As many have noticed, 1.8 absolutely ruined TnT cannons, without tnt faction servers wouldn't be a thing. And there's no need for these new tnt psychics to even be here. I play on a 1.8 faction server (treasureswars.net) and we cringe at the sight of 1.8. Tnt cannons is an art, and you just threw that skill away.
In fact, we might as well request this post get deleted or closed, as this is just an ignorant post. TNT has gained abilities, and 1.9 combat not only is a nerf in itself, making combat harder, but, as Thing said, is not even discussed. I vote for a close.
Yeah, I forgot about the 'art' and the 'many' part. In fact, in tribute to calling TNT cannons an 'art', I will make a pixel art statue that fires TNT and post images here.
Also, I want a pie chart showing the literal percentages on who actually noticed the unsupported fact that 1.8 ruined TNT cannons. I will agree that it's many if it's more than 3, including the creator of this thread.
EDIT: Thanked the original post. It has so many "waht?"s that I love it now.
I'd like to point out something to defend the factions side here.
Tnt does NOT make factions servers. I remember when obbsidian was still indestructible in factions. As a matter of fact, the fact that it's no longer indestructible is why I no longer play factions. I used to be on the servers section, and I can assure you many community members feel the same. Other PEOPLE should be the only thin you have to worry about when you've made your indestructible base, not people with lots of TNT. Sabotage and the like is what makes factions fun, not just the players that have the most resources being able to destroy everything and anything.
(Sorry about ranting, I used to love factions is all. Even though I hate it now :3 )
Oh and welcome to the forums...
Don't worry about the rage bro, this is your first day on the forums. I hope you stick around and get the feel for things
"Most" are not hating 1.9, but more people on this thread dislike it than you think. According to my data, 65% of the people on this thread support the changes, 21% oppose the changes, 7% are on the fence or indifferent on the matter, and 7% haven't given a clear answer. The numbers for the data, respectively, are 128, 41, 14, and 14, all arounded off to the nearest decimal on the percent chart.
I collected data for other comments as well, with 26% of the other comments being RAGE comments, 16% being mod interferences, and 58% being other unrelated comments. The numbers for those are 5, 3, and 11, and it's excluding all of the other off-topic conversations that the mods deleted.
Overall, a small number of people dislike the changes, but most seem to be on board with them. In a poll on a different thread, 90% of people like the changes. When I added up the comments, I also noticed that about half of the people who opposed the changes still liked certian aspects of them. So you could say that only about 11% of the posters here completely disagree with the changes. The title of this thread really needs to be changed. Most are not hating 1.9. Most seem to be okay with it
This chart shows the numbers.
And again with percentages shown instead:

And the other comments...
I doubt that that many people think this will "ruin" TNT cannons.

Now thats REAL data that you cannot discuss, assuming that it true, witch looks like it is.

TNT cannons are much easier to manage now. They only take 2 tnt to make even. So what's your problem here?
How exactly was TNT ruined? Last i checked, nothing was nerfed. "Without tnt, faction servers wouldn't be a thing" That is the single worst supported statement that I have ever seen. How does tnt make faction servers? Wouldn't PVP do that? Not tnt?
Never say "many" unless you have statistics.
And please, remove the "Nerf 1.9 Comabt" from the title since it isn't even discussed here.
TNT does make up alot of factions servers. It is a large part of it, BUT. Factions can run just fine without it.

Hehe thanks hex. I really would join, except I barely have time for my own private server right now, and I doubt I'd be able to be a dedicated member (and I don't like only half-joining servers, I like being committed)
And everyone, this is the guy's first post. I think he gets the idea by now xD

I'm surprised this thread keeps getting bumped, but part of it is probably me, as I have more posts than anyone on this thread. But, as I have said, teesee cleared all we need up with those beautiful graphs of his. I don't think anyone can really add much to this discussion.
TNT cannons are not art. Where are your statistics on "many"?
I disagree. There's definitely an art to designing a great TNT cannon. You can add more layers, incorporate pistons, change it's range through timing. etc.
...That's all I have to contribute to this thread. Except that I think spam-click combat is a pretty silly mechanic, and won't mind seeing it go. Although I understand why some people would prefer it. I also look forward to the parrying shields may bring.
A bit off-topic, but I like how much moderator interference is apparantly required when people are discussing 1.9. People can get really heated when they iscuss this update.
Probably because of how many "PLZ NERF DA NEW COMBAT!!! WE DON'T WANT COMBAT TO CHANGE!!!!!" threads are popping up due to the 1.9 update. People get so used to something they start to ignore the fact that it was hideously simplistic to the point where it required next to no skill, the person who could click the fastest would win, and even then auto-clickers are a thing.

All 1.8 did that had to do with TNT was add slime block "missile" abilities. It hasn't done anything to change current cannon designs, it just added more possibilities for explosive projectiles.

Yes, I don't know exactly. And 1.9 is a step in a right direction from spam-clicking and block-swipes.

What? TNT cannons work perfectly fine in 1.8. And 1.9 wasn't even mentioned once except in the title.
Yeah, it's ridiculous. I support 1.9 as I have already stated though.
Thank you for the pie charts I requested.

It's taken you this long to complain about it after how long has 1.8 been out for?
He's talking about 1.9, but asking for 1.8 to be fixed with 1.9. However, as my previous posts state, I am not supporting this post.
