So, have you ever heard of the android app called Boardwalk? If not, Boardwalk is Minecraft PC ported to android, it can run 1.8+ and even has the 1.9 Snapshots. Unfortunately the only issue with this is lag. You're going to need a gaming android tablet to get 60 fps. I ran this on my only android in my home which is a Kurio 4s a little kids smartphone pretty much. I didn't get good fps 4-10 but I was still impressed that it ran. Especially if it was a weak old device.
So, around October 1st 2013 (2 years ago!) Mojang decided to see what would happen if they ported. Minecraft 1.6 to IOS.
Well... If the android app Boardwalk ran on a slow old device with around 5 fps, couldn't the developers look into this and fix FPS issues? Because everyone is using more so updated devices now days. And Minecraft should run decently with a half bucket of lag. But you do have things like Optifine.
Well sadly the developer tried to put Optifine on Boardwalk which it worked. But it didn't make an FPS difference.
But wait something isn't right here... When he attempted to put optifine on Boardwalk he said it made no FPS difference. Well if he was the developer of Boardwalk. Wouldn't you assume he already had a powerful device that ran it fine? So what about less powerful devices? That could of worked.
So basically you need some way to port Boardwalk to IOS and fix a few FPS issues or add more options that would say "recommended" like a built-in optifine but better.
Yet again I haven't heard of anyway to port APK's to IOS devices. But you never know. You could take boardwalks code and transfer it to IOS and fix some things so it works on IOS perhaps.
So what do you guys have to say about this? Are you a developer and know how to make this work? Make an app for it! Work for Mojang! The possibilities are endless!
