Now before I start, please keep in mind that this is the first suggestion that I have posted here, so there is no guarantee that I know what I am doing. If a fail at making a good suggestion, I apologize.
Mini boss idea one: The Baby Ender Dragon
This boss would be a smaller, weaker version of the Ender Dragon. It would have less health than the Ender Dragon (Possibly half-health), it wouldn't have the acid breath that the Ender Dragon will have in 1.9, and it couldn't break blocks like the Ender Dragon. It's ram would do 4 damage on easy, 6 on normal, and 8 on hard. This boss would drop 6 Ender pears and 6 Eyes of Ender, making it easier to get to the end faster. This boss would spawn rarely at night in the over world at night. You would agro it the same way you would an Enderman; looking directly at it. (The battle could be avoided just by not looking at The Baby Ender Dragon directly) If The Baby Ender Dragon isn't agroed for too long after it spawns, it would de-spawn. This boss would not be tamable.
Mini boss idea two: Wither Golem
This boss would be a very rare spawn in the Nether. It would have a similar model to the the snow golem, but with soul sand for its body instead of snow, a Wither Skeleton Skull instead for a head instead of a pumpkin, and Nether Brick Fences for arms. Instead of snowballs, it shoots Wither Skulls. (Normal, not blue) Like the Wither, it would be hostile too all-non undead mobs. It would have as much health as an iron gomem. If it was killed, it would drop 1-2 Wither Skeleton Skull (One in ten chance of getting three), make the presses of getting Wither Shelton Skulls less tedious.
Boss idea one: The Fire Guardian
To spawn this boss in, you would have to build a 'Fire Shrine' in the nether. The Fire Shrine would be a 4-block tall all-gold pyramid (Giving a use to all that gold players get from defeating a Ocean monuments.) To activate it, you would light the top of the shrine on fire. Once the Shrine is activated, The Fire Guardian would spawn in the nearest 5 by 3 by 5 area of lava. This boss would have 250 HP, almost as much as a Wither. This boss would look similar the to the Elder Guardian, but with nether themed colors such as dark red. The Fire Guardian would stay at the top of lava too shoot guardian beams (Is there even a proper term for thoughts things?) at the player, which does 3 damage on easy, 5 damage on normal, and 7 on hard. The Fire Guardian could also shoot ghast fire balls to destroy barriers that the player makes to dodge the beams. Theses Fire balls do as much damage as a normal ghast fire ball. When the Fire Guardian is defeated, it spawns a block called "The Eye of the Fire Guardian" as well as destroy all lava in a 8 block radius. This eye could be harvested with a pickaxe. This eye would serve no purpose other that a trophy for defeating The Fire Guardian. (Similar to how the Dragon Egg is a trophy for the Ender Dragon) This boss would also drop "Fire Guardian scale armor". This armor would have the armor value of diamond armor and the enchantability of gold armor. This armor would have the durability of diamond armor, and could be repaired with prismarine crystals.
Boss idea two: Improved Wither
This idea isn't for a new mob, rather to improve the already existent Wither. Because the Wither moves so fast, it is impossible to dodge its attacks and hurt the boss at the same time. This forces you to rely on great armor and healing items for protection, making for a very boring fight. my solution is simply making the Wither slower. Probably one fourth of his speed. This would allow players to run away if the Wither gets to close, therefor allowing the player a chance of dodging attacks. I believe this would make the boss much more enjoyable.
Well, that's all. Do to how large this suggestion is, you should probably show your support (Or lack there of) for each separate boss, rather than the whole post. Example of what I mean:
Yeah... You should never label your own ideas as "fitting". All of these bosses are just reworks of existing mobs, and therefore, aren't original or very interesting.

The Wither is perfectly fine, IMO. It doesn't really need to be slower, because as it nears the ground, you can spam your sword, or if it is in the air, shoot your bow.

The baby dragon shouldn't spawn in the Overworld. Honestly? That doesn't make sense. However, if it spawned in the new End Island in 1.9, that I could agree with. This isn't too creative, but the description of it makes it more unique than other threads.
The wither golem is underpowered for its rarity. For being very rare, you get a not so powerful boss that drops a wither skull. Pretty unique, but it is underpowered.
So an overworld elder guardian that shoots fireballs? Not very creative. We fight this, just for the "Eye of the Fire Guardian"? Yes, it is a trophy, but you need more than just a trophy to make the players actually fight it. The Ender Dragon drops loads of experience, the upcoming dragon breath, and an egg. Not to mention that fighting the dragon depends on a bow.
The wither doesn't need to be improved in my opinion. While it would be slower, it would also be easier to defeat, which ruins the sole purpose of a boss.
All of these bosses are just reworks of existing mobs, and therefore, aren't original or very interesting.
The mini bosses are supposed to be like that. They are weaker versions of the bosses to help prepare you for what is to come and help you get what you need to fight there respective full boss.
As for The Fire Guardian, it goes along with the idea of mini bosses that prepare you for the real ones. However it is a very different boss fight, as you fight it on land while the boss is it lava. You fight Elder Guardians while both you and the mini boss are underwater. On top of that, The Fire Gardian can shoot fireballs, something the Elder Guardians can't do.
Before you claim that I am lashing out, I'm not. I am making myself more clear.

Spawning in the new Ender islands would remove the point. It's there too make it easier to get to the end. For health: I said that it's health would probably be half of the Ender-Dragon's health. Rarity? Again, I mentioned that it would rarely spawn at night. Damage? I'll add that after I post this reply.

We don't need Skulls to be easy to get, just harder than they are. But I will change the rarity. Damage? As much as a normal Wither Skull. Health? I'll add that.

Overworld? No no no... You could only spawn it in the Nether. More reason to fight it? Fair enough. I'll add that. Bow? Well, a bow would help for this boss. Health, damage? I'll add them.

I only mentioned Overworld as in the current guardians, which I should have specified. Anyways, it still is a close replica of the Guardian.
Well, I can't say anything here because this is purely your opinion.
