If you they added birds, they'd have to add a whole bunch of mobs after that, like fish and insects, etc. But... Minecraft 1.0. The Nature Update! I'm not voting cause there's no partial support button.
I added a "I kinda like it.." answer to the poll, if that solves your problem.
- AI: He flies away when you are 4 blocks away, flies very high in the skies, and dwells in a tall place. Will attack you when you are close to his nest. He will always try to catch fish and if he success, he will return the fish to his nest.
- Drops: 2-4 feathers, 1 salmon or fish (if killed when he is carrying a fish or salmon)
- Color: same as regular eagles in real life
- Biome: I dont know about eagles but lets say, he is found in taigas.
I think vultures would fit in the desert, plains could have burrowing owls. At least then the plains would be useful for something.
I would personally like to see larger birds included as well such as ravens and eagles. eagles might live in the mega taiga, and ravens could probably live in any forest -even a snowy taiga. Ravens are incredibly smart and (irl) can even be trained to talk, like parrots. In minecraft, ravens could be tamed like dogs and cats, they wouldn't talk, but they could fight alongside you and maybe even retrieve loot for you. They could also, when tamed, act as a lookout, cawing when other players or mobs are nearby
Your talking about the textures... right? If so, that would be great!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll think about 'em!

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move
Added the Eagle (and Eagle Nest). I won't add any more birds, (if it is similar to any of the other birds already added), because i don't want to go "all out" on the bird idea, adding every bird there is on Earth...
Okay! That'd be great! Also, do you mean the*, instead of 'me', xD
Yus.

I'm more for ambient sound of birds, than their physical being. Especially in the jungle were it is so dense, it makes sense not to see them. That, and it makes it harder to hear enemies, especially at a distance. Nothing like walking around, listening to the sweet sounds of bird calls to cover up/distract from the quiet scuffle of a Creeper in the night.
As for seeing them, I'm just being honest. It's not a big deal to me. This is an instant where sound is proof enough they exist. You have to be a bird lover to actually go looking for them. Most of the populace have other things on their mind, and don't even notice a bird on the ground, unless it's right in front of them, or moves in their peripheral vision. Sound, is what makes them exist.
Again, not saying I hate the idea. However, more about the ambient sound.

The birds would be classified as "Friendly mobs", and in the sound options you can turn down/up the sound of the friendly mobs (in this case, the birds), so it wouldn't be a problem for most people. Thanks for the feedback though!

No, I get that. I'm just saying what this would lead to in game is, you see and kill all 5 birds that you see in the area, you then would not hear birds. Having it ambient, you kill those 5 birds, and you can still hear bird calls. Cause let's face it, there are thousands of birds in anyone spot. Not to mention, I like the idea on ambient sounds, because it does add to the fact you're not seeing most of them, yet they exist... and makes it harder to hear versus silence. It's a double win.
That's what I would want out of this. To there being physical birds present, doesn't bother me. So I don't disagree with the post.
(Basically what I'm saying is, if that's what you are lobbying for fine, just also lobby for the ambient sound)

Oh, i get what your saying now xD I'll add that to the thread (Credit Via Update Log)
(I already searched this up and i saw no results, so I'm seeing if there is any way that hasn't been mentioned..)
Is there a way to mention members (who which have voted in a poll, or just purely for mentioning purposes) in a post? Besides that person commenting, and just 'quoting' them.

Ooh, forgot about 'beach birds'! Thanks!
Awesome! The fact that you are taking it into consideration means that I didn't write that post for nothing
It's hard for me not to ignore posts xD unless it makes no sense, or it's just some person being mean..,

I intend on having atleast 2 birds per biome(s). I'll keep 'em in mind. Thanks for the suggestion!
Edited the time for the "Crow or Raven" poll. Decreased the time by 5 hours.
Thanks for the Support!
@CupOfTeaMC What birds would you remove.
Not even sure if this even works.
