This comes full with two uses for the currently useless Clownfish.
1) Clownfish: The Favorite Food Of Your Favorite Feline
Ocelots loooooove fish; it is what tames them, it is what they eat, and what gets them to have children.
Turns out that they love Clownfish more than the rest.
When holding a Clownfish, Ocelots would not run away from the player (unless you attack it/sprint)
Clownfish will have a much higher rate of taming than normal fish.
Clownfish will put Ocelots into "Love Mode" regardless of their current health (It does not bypass the cooldown though)
2) Clownfish: The Guardians Bane
With the introduction of offhand usage upon us, people are thinking of many creative ways to fend off the hordes of creatures trying to kill us.
When Mojang first hinted at Guardians, they said that you should come equipped with full diamond armor to fight them.
What if we had a good offhand item to fend off these one-eyed fiends?
That is where Clownfish come in.
When holding a Clownfish (either main or off hand) and a Guardian attacks you, the Clownfish has a 60% chance to absorb all of the damage and then has a 90% chance to break.
When holding a Clownfish underwater and there is a squid in a 5 block radius, there is a 50% chance the squid will steal the Clownfish from you and eat it. (Either way, the squid must wait 30 seconds before being able to attempt again)
Potential Balancing: If the negation of damage is too powerful, Clownfish could be limited to a stack of 8 or 16.
Constructive Criticism Appreciated!
Changelog:
-Changed Ocelots instantly being tamed to having an increased chance.
absorb all of the damage and then has a 90% chance to break.
Break? You mean, the clownfish breaks? Or the Guardian breaks? Not sure what exactly you were going for when you said that, but the rest of it sounds good.
As useless as ocelots are (scaring creepers, and.... yeah that's it.) I think there should be a fairly easy way to tame them. Giving clownfish a use to fill in this unbalance gap of "being hard to get and near useless" to some degree.
I think clownfish should be able to absorb guardian damage, but it should have a 100% one time use no matter what.
Regardless,
Support; gives a relatively useless item a few uses.

The clownfish would break, similar to an Eye of Ender.
This was to keep you from sitting back while your Clownfish keep you from getting harmed.
Also, since Clownfish are the rarest of the fish you (at least I don't) generally will not have a large stockpile of them.

Ever had something (or somebody) on your railroad that you did not want there?
Partial support. Instead of taming them instantly, I much rather have it worth about 2-3 fish, so you would just need about 2-3 clownfish to tame an Ozelot. And the Guardian thing... Just. No... Clownfish are fairly common and it's kinda unbalanced, and is just silly. A fish absorbing electric(Presumably)like attacks?

Having them be worth 2-3 fish makes sense, but since taming is a % Chance thing wouldn't that just be a higher chance of taming?
How are Clownfish common? I rarely get them when I fish. Could you explain the unbalance? How could I improve it?
There are sillier things in Minecraft (Like having explosive {plants?} drop records when killed by a skeleon)

Ok, let's be honest. what sounds sillier? Using a fish to protect you... Or running away from a creature that can explode?
Ok, now let's be more specific... A Clownfish...Clownfish. Clooown fish that protects you from laser beams when held... Or an exploding plant-like creature that looks sad and/or evil.
Well, at least the Creeper has logical reasoning:
As for the record thing, what's so silly about holding an item?
I don't know, we all have different points of views, that's just me. Sorry.
Though I must admit, I do like the idea of using the off-hand to give you abilities.

Also, I seem to get Clowfish often when I fish.. You know... When I fish... So like... 1/568th of my gameplay.

Last night when I was thinking about this idea, there was some logic behind clownfish protecting you from guardians.
Clownfish live with Sea anemones. Sea anemones sting. Guardians may be shooting a "Sting Ray" {no pun intended} or something of the like. Clownfish therefore have a relation to being able to bypass getting stung.
That is just some random connection I made

Ever had something (or somebody) on your railroad that you did not want there?
Honestly, with the low fishing rate for clownfishes, I'd much rather spend one on 3 Water Breathing potions to breathe in an Ocean Monument then to hurt a Guardian or two.
Partial Support. (I support the Ocelot part, but not the Guardian part. Along with what I said about it in my above sentence, I think it seems kind of silly and random to be honest.)
Not a bad idea. But I suggest that instead of taming ocelots instantly with clownfish, it would have a higher chance to tame them than how normal fish or salmon would. Clownfish absorbing a Guardian's beam would also be a creative 'shield' to have. And seeing how rare clownfish are, this has a lot of potential for both options.
Little things like this can really impact the game positively, so I applaud you for thinking of this.
I really like this suggestion because it gives yet another useless item a use/purpose. However, the Ocelot taming seems unbalanced - perhaps instead of instant taming (because clownfish are rare, not that rare) make it a 75% chance of taming. I also don't think that there should be a 90% chance of the clownfish 'breaking' but instead a 60-75% chance just because otherwise it seems underpowered, however I like the idea of having a shield against Guardians rays. Full support.
You can't brew water breathing with clownfish, only pufferfishes.
On Topic: These two ideas are really creative, unique, and sounds pretty useful. I do agree the Ocelot taming needs a bit of balancing though. Either change it from 'instant' to 'high chance', or maybe make it so it's an instant chance, but Ocelots would still run away from you liek they normally do.
Anyway, Support.
Oh yeah. Even though I read "clowfish", I was thinking of "pufferfish" in my mind for some reason.

I support this subject, it gives a new use to clownfish, and I think that 100% tame rate is fair considering that
1:cats only use is scaring away creepers
2: you have to kill them have the time to get them off your chests
3: they only drop exp. which lost much of it's value in enchanting with 1.8 and grinding on, really anything else is much more efficent
they really need to fix that bug AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Maybe the life force of the clownfish gets destroyed after protecting you. They don't break per-say, they just kinda get dissolved.
But theyre too hard to get dissolved in 1 use... only 2%
