So, we know about all these stone variants, right? Andesite, Diorite, Granite, Sandstone, heck, even Stained Clay! So I suggest that we touch upon these and make building a bit more interesting, adding new brick types, walls, chiseled stones, and more!
Granite, Andesite, and Diorite
So first off, we're covering the bricks. So either these could have a bit of variety in the textures for each individual type of stone, or just be recolors of the classic stone bricks. It honestly could go either way. This would of course be made with 4 blocks of a Polished stone variant, and make the bricks. Mossy version could be a thing, as well as cracked.
We are now onto the Chiseled, which I think would be neat if there were unique textures for each type, such as Sandstone and Red Sandstone. But it could still just recolor the original chiseled stone. It would, of course, be made with the same recipe as the classic, just with the variants.
There will also be a slab and stair for polished, raw, and brick stone variants.
(Example of Granite Brick stairs)
And with the raw variants, we can make some new furnaces.
And lastly, we could make a stone wall for the variants, and we would of course make it with the same recipe, just with the raw variants.
Sandstone has been around for quite a while now, but it hasn't really been touched upon until 1.8, which only added a variant for it, Red Sandstone.
For one, we need bricks for it. We have every stone form for sandstone except for bricks, which should have the classic smooth top to it, with a brick pattern more like classic bricks and nether bricks. We will also have mossy, cracked, stairs, and slabs for this. Same with Red Sandstone, just red.
We could also make a sandstone wall with the smooth sandstone to add more variety.
And lastly for this section, we will have sandstone furnaces.
I love the stained clay, and it was brought to my attention by Melympe that these could have variation as well.
Of course, we have the bricks. These would have the same texture as stone bricks with the color of the selected clay. This would have a cracked variant, but not mossy. If you would enjoy a mossy version, then tell me and I might update this.
This would also have chiseled variants, which share the same texture as the stone version with the specific color of the clay.
Of course, this will have slabs and stairs because why not? Gives more variety and color to the building pallete. Plus it could give some more options for roofs and chairs and such.
And of course, this would also have walls for each color of clay.
A basic and simple suggestion, but I think it could make building a bit more diverse and interesting.
If someone would make a banner for this, it would be very much appreciated!
I'd like that, too. Right now, these stones are pretty useless for anything but building walls and (maybe) roofs/grounds. Can we include the brick wall blocks (dunno the actual English term) that look a bit like tombstones in that list?
Come to think of it, I'd also like to see these variant of building blocks for colored clay - without the mossy variants, but everything else.
I like it. Are you talking about the stone walls? I had already touched upon those as having some more variants. And I like the stained clay idea, as well. I'll add that to the OP.
