In case you dont know, a Geode is a rock with crystals in it, and sometimes even little bits of iron are inside. I collect Geodes in IRL, so I thought this would be cool to add to MC. This is not a wishlist, I am putting it in list order for convenience <-----
Steps to find and reward yourself with Geodes
1. Geodes spawn in taigas, both snow and well, no snow. Geodes are round and usually grey. They lay on the ground in a 3d manner, like mushrooms.
2. Use a pickaxe of at least Stone, then click on a Geode, this will get you 1 to 4 pieces of crystal. Also you have a chance of getting 1 to 3 iron ingots. 50% chance for 1 ingot, 35% for 2, and 20% for 3
3. What does crystal do? When you fill the crafting table with crystal, you get a crystal block.
4. Crystal blocks are white, but can be dyed. They look like this, well that's what the texture looks like for clarification.
5. HEY!! I SEE NO REWARD!!! Well yes, there is, 1st you get the pretty block. Second you have a chance of getting iron ingots.
PLEASE PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE POSTING, IK SOMEONE WHO SAID I FORGOT TO ADD SOMETHING, IT WAS THERE THE WHOLE TIME WITHOUT EDITS. Sorry for caps.
This is vague. Add these points to your suggestion to make them less vague:
The hammer's durability.
The hammer's attack damage (You know...like how every tool has one)
The percentage of getting an iron ingot.
The amount of iron ingots gained.
I don't support because the hammer only has one use and that is to get Geodes.
btw thats not called "no support" its actually "support with edits", which I added. Also, the suggestion is about Geodes, so, what else is the hammer used for?
A better idea would to NOT add a hammer, and instead just let the block naturally spawn.
I'm not too interested in the idea, but adding a tool for one use, then trying to give it more is not only useless, but would also cause you to break another rule: Wishlisting.
Why do we need to program in a hammer just to interact with these geodes? And these geodes offer barely anything, just a block that supposedly looks neat and pointlessly spits out iron ingots because... just... because?
The block alone would be a nice new stone to add to caves or something, but we don't need to throw in a super pointless hammer or something that spits out iron ingots for no reason.

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.

OMG YOU DID NOT READ THE WHOLE THING I SAID I PUT IT IN A LIST FOR CONVENIENCE.
Just have geodes have a chance of spawning withing Taiga biomes (and maybe extreme hills? Feels like geodes would do well there.), and use a pickaxe to break them. There's no reason to add a tool to the game with such a specific purpose. Partial support.
Well in irl I use a hammer to break them open, so thats what i decided
Support! I feel like we should have another way to get iron. I also really like that crystal block. It's so pretty and I could make some pretty nice crystal cave kinda builds.

Thank you, I love to see an actual supporter, thanks!

And I generally use knives when I eat potatoes. That doesn't mean we need to slap knives in the game to just eat them. Gameplay>Reali- in fact, just read the suggestion guide.

I think a pretty decoration block would be great for in caves, considering how drab and uninteresting most of them are currently. I don't like the hammer and method of finding it, though; it seems like way too much fooling around for one decorative block. Just have "crystal blocks" spawn naturally like any ore.

I'm just adding my suggestion to your previous quote:

The hammer seems kind of useless if it's just going to be used for one block. Every tool in the game can be used for more than one thing.
Partial support. I like the idea but it needs a few edits.
But how much damage would it do? And why would we need a hammer as a weapon when we have swords for short range combat? You're being very vague about this hammer. So far, it's addition has not been redeemed.
It does say the damage. Besides, it's not there for attacking, it's there for geodes. A pickaxe can do damage, but it is not made for damage, its made for mining. You should probably read the entire thing before posting.

partial support.
first, I really think there shouldn't be a hammer. if minecraft were realistic then we'd need some sort of laser to cut through diamonds. plus, the idea of geodes spitting out iron sounds kind of off beat... other minecraft ores drop plain and simply one item; diamonds, coal, iron, gold, what have you.
a normal pickaxe, probably an iron one, would do just fine. I personally think that the ore should resemble other ores in the game to fit in better, otherwise it just feels like a whole new branch of gameplay.
when you mine the ore it should probably drop one geode, which looks like a shard of purple crystal, basically, and nine in the basic block shape makes a geode block. like diamond or gold blocks. (not ores, the shiney blocks)
possibly geode armor? that's up to you, whether geodes should have armor like iron and diamond does, or be like emeralds that simply... don't. if an armor set is added, so should a tools set. and vice versa.
the whole idea branches out way too much and should be set in a framework like vanilla minecraft is. so partial support, full support if changed.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to get rid of the hammer. Second, geode shards are usually not purple. Third, Mojang said no more new tiers of armor. Fourth, I am keeping the block textures. Thanks for the advice!

no problem
as for geode shards, as far as I know geodes are purple, at least the ones I've seen.

I forgot this was a suggestion for vanilla minecraft, not a mod idea. I thought this would be a mod which was why I suggested armor X3

Is any1 good with textures, Im not! So please let me know if you can, i will give credit to you
