I changed this to also apply to stairs as well as the regular slabs. It will still work the same, but just with "Stairs:true" instead. I was thinking about doors and fences and all of that, too, but it may be a little ridiculous, but it may come in. If you like that idea I will add it to my suggestion, if not, then it will stay out.

I don't even play Minecraft much anymore yet here I am on the Minecraft forums for some reason...
I would love more slab options but not if it makes the graphics more FPS laggy. I am not buying a new PC just to speed up Minecraft... I'll just play console games if I want good graphics. I'm not sure what exactly makes the FPS more laggy but Minecraft runs worse and worse with every update. How about an update that actually reduces required system resources?? Naw, can't have that.

Its a massive sandbox that only gets bigger with each update

Usually the things that slow down your game the most are:
1-signs. They lag your game horribly (or at least mine)
2-chests
3-mobs
4-the best graphics in the world including fancy graphics with 16 chunk render distance at the highest quality images possible (I never do this because it really can crash the game for me)
I would love to have slabs and stairs for all building blocks. I find it very frustrating when you have a cool looking block (like polished granite for instance) but you can't use it as anything except trim because you don't have access to the other block forms for it. I mean, let's be honest, the game is largely about creating things and aesthetics is a reasonably large part of that. While improvements to the combat system or addition of new mobs and structures to explore is necessary to keep the game fresh and playable, creative mode exists because a huge part of the game is building structures and molding the landscape to your vision. A broader base of usable block skins would be a great improvement that would benefit a large part of the player base (and while I'm not big into redstone, more things to do with redstone would probably excite a large part of the base as well!)
