hello, i have a simple suggestion: villagers can shear sheep. I got this idea when i was trying to think of a way to make an automatic sheep farm and thought of this, so that's pretty much all, and also sheep pens would also start appearing in villages.
It's neat and all, but do the villagers do anything with the wool?

Yeah, that guy in the avatar is me. I'm *that* strange. It happens. Sometimes people act like that. Just go with it. I can offer help with suggestions even before you post them - NOT make your suggestions - but help you with them.
What do they do with carrots, wheat, and potatoes? Similar stuff as wool! Maybe it could give their skin a texture of a woolen fleece if they've shorn a sheep and made a fleece out of it!
I... find that to be absolutely genius. You win, you have my full support. Please bask in it. Just as long as the textures of the wool-gathering villagers' clothes aren't too ugly.

Well, maybe not regular minecraft, but i play on a server that auto wool farms would be useful because we make skyscrapers out of it.
Well, that doesn't really make a difference. Sure you can get a variety of colors, but you can farm any type of blocks (Cobblestone, wood, stone, even dirt) and still accomplish the same skyscraper.
It would effect gameplay because you could make automatic farms the same way you can make automatic wheat, carrot and potato farms.
That would require developing a reason for villagers to toss non-food items at each other. The OP just kinda stopped his suggestion at the shepherd's new clothes, without ever touching on how the player would acquire the autofarmed wool.

Well, the server i play on is economy roleplay, all our buildings have to be modern, all of the blocks you mentioned would be called an eyesore. This server i completely different than normal minecraft
Anyways, shepherds making "jacket" skins using sheared wool, but otherwise the only benefit being farms? Seems like it has potential, but I think there should be something more. A purely aesthetic function is a bit underwhelming.

Seems neat, but only for farmers that have the shepherd title.

I don't see how this would effect gameplay or mobs in anyway, it's a simple yet nice idea to have.
Support.

Is there anything wrong with that? Wool isn't OP or anything. Carpets... Pixel art... Beds...?

Sure, why not? Add a little bit of character to villages, and give the shepherd an actual use.
Support; character, need I say more?
Add me on steam!
