I think mojang/microsoft should give users that registered and bought the game during alpha maybe beta should receive a cape to show their loyalty to the game what do you guys think?
I see no reason for this... First off, why does everyone want a virtual board hanging off their characters back? Second, having the game for a long time does not make you special.

Please note, if I deny a suggestion because it is already possible, then I mean it is already possible withing 10 command blocks (That do not spawn other command blocks) or up to 5 creations (Command blocks that spawn other command blocks) to make your suggestion.

Loyalty? It's just different points in time that people bought the game, there's no "loyalty". This comes as another one of those threads where the OP just wants an easy cape.

OT: I don't see a reasoning for this, very much they would've been given if that was true.
Capes were especially made for those attending Mine con, as a gift, to implement them simply for Alpha/Beta users would not only take the magic of going to Mine con and receiving a cape away, but It would exclude all other players who are just as dedicated simply not having joined during that stage.

Loyalty? At one point would you need to show loyalty, besides to get a cape? And why? Is it just an excuse to get some virtual cape that flaps around your back? Capes are only given to those who attend Minecon or donate to Optifine. So if you want one, go to Minecon or donate to Optifine.

This is incorrect.
Capes have been given out for several reasons, as listed here.
An example of another cape is...
On November 7, 2014 it was announced that there was a new Scrolls cape. Players who earned the Weekly First Place winner badge five times will be given access to the cape. As of November 7 2014, two players – _antirad_ and nickdean16 – have earned the cape. By the end of 2014, three users have now earned the cape
This is an example of "loyalty" to their new game, Scrolls, which can earn you a cape.
You can also purchase the Minecon capes(in addition to others) directly from the Xbox Live marketplace. I'm not entirely sure if "avatar" purchases will show in game however, though some skins from various console skin packs have capes according to the wiki link I posted above.
Capes for alpha/beta players aren't a new idea, and I'm pretty sure if Mojang wanted them, they'd be in already. They'd be nice to have, but in the end, I don't think they'd really matter much.

While I am mistaken, this suggestion still gives a petty excuse just for the sake of a virtual item. So what if you played in Minecraft in Alpha or Beta? Like everyone said, there is no known loyalty playing a game early.
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!

I think capes are pretty stupid in general and wouldn't even wear it if I had one, but I don't see any harm in Alpha/Beta capes. On the other hand, it's way too late to implement them(would've had to be done around release or earlier), so it will never happen. No matter how many people suggest/agree with it.
You're also mistaken that "there is no known loyalty playing a game early". I currently have the beta for Heros of the Storm. I received two profile portraits for playing in the alpha/beta. Players who reached level 40 during the alpha also got an additional 3rd portait.
Blizzard plans to add hundreds of profile portraits(there are 3 pages already) however, while Mojang has a very limited number of capes. I'd imagine Mojang keeps the number of capes low intentionally to make them "unique"(and push Minecon ticket sales). Unless you want to pay them cash money of course, then they're perfectly happy giving you whatever cape you want. While Blizzard has gone in the opposite direction, giving you so many different choices that it's unlikely everyone in your game will be using the same profile portrait.
Blizzard also gives a lot of cross-promotional "loyalty rewards". If you purchased the collectors edition of Diablo 3, you recieved "collectors edition" portraits for Starcraft 2 and unique non-combat pets for World of Warcraft for example. This is similar to the "Scrolls cape" you can currently earn that I already mentioned.
You go to minecon and get a cape, or you don't. There never were and never will be some special cape for people who had the game for a little while.
No support; you go to minecon or you don't, there's nothing in between.
As I've already shown, you don't have to attend Minecon to get a cape(on console versions at least). They can be purchased for $0.99-$2.99 and are also included in select skin packs that are available for purchase.

This forum has made me decide that I now want kids, so that when they get old enough, I can forbid them from coming here. it's a terrible place.
I know a guy who bought the game in Infdev, played it for a month, then gave up. He returned 4 years later in 1.7.9, but he's NOT considered a veteran. So, this entire post isn't 100% true. Support level: indecisive
The olddays mod is dead, sorry to tell you.
The far lands generation was epic, why not re-add it?

Mojang also thinks nothing special of capes. Mojang employees get one to make them recognizable when they're playing, and Minecon attendees get one, along with all the other goodies you get when buying a Minecon ticket.
Sure... Mojang doesn't consider them special when we, either, spend thousands on airplane tickets to go to a country that is far away from the vast majority of MC players... just to get the cape, or, get lucky enough to become a Mojang employee. Or we have to buy them from Optifine. I also like how you guys say "capes are not special", then you contradict yourselves by saying "somehow get lucky enough to become part of Mojang", "go far away from your home and spend hundreds, if not thousands on airplane tickets, not as much as for the Minecraft Convention itself as for the... virtual board hanging off of your backside", or "donate lots of money to Optifine just for the cape". All of these options make it apparent that capes are considered special. And I wouldn't consider being at the right place at the right time with the right amount of money for convention tickets "earning" it. It's more like you're paying for the cape, which is not equal to earning. There's a difference between paying for and actually earning.
Now, I think capes could be re-implemented in two ways:
1. A player will get a customizable cape after 18 months of playing (or a little more), as a way to show that he or she is an experienced Minecraft player. Those of you who are saying that people shouldn't get this sort of thing "just" for being more experienced players, it's usually kinda like saying "my grandparents (or someone else with lots of life experience) shouldn't be considered wise, because they have way more life experience than me."
2. Or we could just make customizable capes, crafted like banners except without any wood. This would allow more creative possibilities in the game.

Just a little thing.
A question.
It shouldn't be that hard to answer.
What is so special about CAPES!?
Yes, the cape would give you bragging rights but its meant to be more of a "ive been loyal since the beginning"
Capes were especially made for those attending Mine con, as a gift, to implement them simply for Alpha/Beta users would not only take the magic of going to Mine con and receiving a cape away, but It would exclude all other players who are just as dedicated simply not having joined during that stage.

I started playing minecraft on a friends account starting in indev, up until 1.2.3, when I made my own, so this would suck for me.

Absolutely not. There is no loyalty in playing a game early. And it would be unfair to those that have started playing the game later on.
