Adding furniture doesn't really work unless you're going to go all out and add dozens of different types of chairs, tables, lights etc. because one style of chair is going to look bad in a different style of interior. If we get one piece of furniture that has a medieval style to it then its probably going to look bad in a more modern themed house, and thus actually limits creativity and the design of your interior if you want to use any of the furniture items. I'd prefer we were given more block shapes/sizes and materials to create our own furniture so that we can actually be creative with it and have it match the rest of our build.
Isn't minecraft also a industrial revolution era as well?
I don't really care about the suggestion, but this first comment really grinds my gears. There's absolutely no reason why a person can't make a suggestion based on a mod. In fact, I would say the strongest argument for a suggestion to be included into vanilla would be the existence of a popular mod.
I hate relying on mods and almost never use mods that add new items to the game because I don't want to be beholden to the mod in the future. What if the mod maker quits or takes a long time to update? So there are rational reason why people would like to see a mod converted into vanilla (horses anyone?)
In this particular case, I feel like the furniture mod is too specific and complicated. I would love to see a more simplistic furniture update that included a few basic items that are purely decorative such as chairs, tables (wooden "carpets" perhaps?), cabinets, etc.
