I think this is an amazing idea. It would be awesome to have Minecraft run on PS3 and xBox360. This can be a PlayStation Store game and same goes for xBox for $20 or so. I don't see anything wrong with it. The game can also have this Download section where people are able to download mods and skins and such. An extra feature would be something like Theater mode if any of you have played Black Ops. You can view you games and record as well and place it in your fileshare. But instead here you should be able to upload your clip but thats just extra. I don't know how long does it take to make the game or if its even possible to create it on a console. Maybe the graphics will be better. I thought of this idea because it doesn't run well on my PC because I don't use it for gaming but I have a console so I thought it would be nice and since consoles can handle more than normal computers. It would remove some lag that happens on my computer because of rendering. Also to be honest, I have watched Minecraft videos but I have barely played it. What do you guys think about this idea?
Sorry if the idea was already posted.
Edit: My bad I see at the top that it is going to be on Kinect? But my point is just make it like a normal game and available for other consoles. Then later on make it compatible with Kinect and PlayStation Move.
Also please reply before you vote no.
Yes, I like this idea. It would make minecraft more available. But, I think if you already have bought it for the PC, you get it for at least 1 console.

So you mean if someone has bought it on PC, they should get a code that can be entered in the store and you don't have to buy it. Its fine with me but I don't think they'll do that. I mean they are putting time into transferring it on consoles and who knows the graphics might be better as well.
It would be almost impossible for Notch to do this game without Java, He is only familiar with the Java language so for him to transfer it to console would be a very hard task. But if he ever did get it on consoles, he should NOT give it for free if you have to the computer version thats a terrible idea, People will yell at him "Oh you hate the community, Notch to the worst supporter ever" etc, But name one publisher that has ever transferred purchases across consoles, It just doesn't make a profit.
I like how people are too stupid to understand the collousal difference between coding languages. It will cost Mojang A LOT of money to convert minecraft to consoles, and it would have to be dumbed down for the lack of RAM. Also, why convert it when the GAME ISN"T EVEN FINISHED YET. They should worry about branching out to other platforms later, and for now they should get back to enhancing the current game.
why wouldn't an xbox or ps3 be able to play that when they can render the whole of liberty city on gta.
Just gonna say, Liberty City is made up of a single skin, a single "face" if you may over the entire game world, whereas in Minecraft, each block has SIX "faces", and generate down a considerable depth, height AND distance.
okay, my post didnt cover every little nook & cranny,
yes liberty city does render one skin side per object, but honestly, if this stuff can render on a computer, im pretty sure itll be able to render on a console.
personally, i dont code, program or create games etc. but i honestly dont think they should leterally copy and paste the game onto a console, that would be obsolete and there would be no point. of course, this game is loved by millions as we know, it have seems to of improved dramatically over the last 2 years, it would be a shame to see it go onto consoles with out it being completed or the same as it is on pc.
as another post debated, i really think minecraft should be finished first.
honestly, dont think i am passionate in the text above, it's just a suggestion, and i am not arguing at all.
Not enought RAM!!! Get it in your head!! The reason Minecraft is so slow on most people's computer is they've only got 2 gigs of ram. Minecraft is based around your RAM and not around your video card.
I voted no because everything doesn't need to be ported to a console. Pretty much, I don't see a good reason for it to be on a console. There isn't anything new that a console would provide to the minecraft experience. Plus the appeal of minecraft for a lot of people (read: me) is the blocks. I'm not particularly fond of "My blood needs to look like super high res blood, or else I'm not buying!!" kind of gaming, so I don't think the porting of it to a console would be a good business decision.

... while I generally agree with you, I can name one publisher that has made exactly that offer: to give you copies across multiple platforms:
Valve.
They do it with SteamPlay (buy the PC version, get the MAC version too).
They're also doing it with Portal 2 (buy the PS3 version, and link your PS3 account to a Steam account ... get the PC and Mac versions, for free).
I don't think its even a possibility. and lol at you saying you dont know anything about coding and then saying "copy and paste onto consoles"
annddddd also....
This game is going to be continually updating and changing and the game itself presents so many different possibilities for different gametypes/mods/ user creations that just coudln't be experienced on consoles. So even if it was a possiblity, it wouldn't really work on consoles. It just wouldn't work for so many reasons.
I love this idea, id love to see it on DS or 3DS. Wii Would Be Awesome. Some Guys Making It For Kinnect, As i read on a thread here. There may be problems, but im sure they can work it out. :tongue.gif:
I vote no. It's a good idea but I love the fact that minecraft is a PC/Mac only game. Also, it's probably going to be too much work for Notch and the others to implement it.
Development on consoles requires monies and buying expensive SDKs. And yeah Notch appears to be like a "stereotypical jew" so I don't see this happening.

The consoles do not have enough power, especially the 360. PC wins

Nice ******** there. You need a seperate release to put on console anyway, so its not like you're going to make the console release not compatible for consoles.

Edit: the PS3 and 360 have 1/8 of a normal computers RAM, and the Wii has less than 1/40 of the normal amount of RAM.
just because you're correct doesnt mean you're right
