First off, this would be a small thing, and not effect gameplay too much.
I think it'd be cool to have mushroom versions of other mobs/animals, I mean if there's a mooshroom, why not a pigshroom, shreep, etc? The only difference is they drop mushrooms instead of normal drops, just like Mooshrooms. These mobs have no different stats at all, and spawn like Mooshrooms. (In mushroom island biomes.) Oh, and they have the same art style as a Mooshroom, red and mushroomy.
I dunno, I just thought that it'd be cool to have this mushroom mobs thing spread out into the other mobs.
Note: No, there is not a mushroom Wither or Enderdragon, or a mushroom slime, magma cube, or blaze.
Imagine silvershrooms, that's be...Really creepy, to be honest.
If there is some lore reason why there is only mooshrooms, let me know.

Check out my adventure modpack! 25+ carefully selected mods (Not counting Core Mods) and great for if you don't have that beefy of a computer. Plus it has over 2K downloads and counting so y'know it's good. Oh, and fully multiplayer compatible!
There's also the resource intensive version (if you can handle it) for a bigger experience!
This would be a nice idea! maybe MUSHROOM CREEPERS?! like when they explode they drop mushroom!?
Thanks for the support. I think that'd be a...shreeper? nah, too much like the sheep one. crooper? I dunno man. I think they'd explode like normal, I mean when a normal creeper explodes they don't drop gunpowder, so I'd guess the same logic would be used for the shroom one?

Let's not go TOO overboard with these mushroom mobs, especially no hostile mobs since the mushroom biome is supposed to be a peaceful place. I think maybe just the mooshroom, shreep, and porkabella (mushroom pig) would spawn.
Shreep: You could shear a shreep for mushroom wool or kill it for lamb chops and mushrooms.
Porkabella: A brown mushroom pig which can be sheared for brown mushrooms, killed for porkchops or can be ridden with a saddle and a Mushroom on a Stick (you can guess how to craft that).

Hmm, interesting ideas. Yeah I was trying not to go overboard (hence the no wither mushroom or blaze.)
Well if only the peaceful ones spawned, we could still keep the hostile ones for map makers. (I mean c'mon, you'd totally play an adventure map fully based of mushrooms right?)

Yeah silverfish are the scariest mob in my opinion, and a mushroom one...I would not want to encounter that. o.o

If you actually want an answer to the "why not?", I guess one reason would be that it would water things down if too many mushroom-related mobs were added. It's like the spider jockey. It's a pretty awesome combination of mobs, and then the whole jockey thing got kind of "eh" when they added more. Not saying that new in-game jockeys are bad.
Imagine silvershrooms, that's be...Really creepy, to be honest.
Ummmm... Are you suggesting this or..?
If there is some lore reason why there is only mooshrooms, let me know.
I guess because Mojang didn't find it necessary to add more mobs to such a painfully rare biome. As for the idea, I'm neutral to new mushroom mobs, as I wouldn't get much of a chance to see them unless one day I get lucky and actually find a mushroom biome without third-party help. So I guess, half-support?

I feel like adding different varieties of mushroom mobs would ruin the unique-ness of the Mooshroom.
One mob in the Mushroom biomes is fine, especially one as powerful as the Mooshroom.
no support.
Uniqueness? What uniqueness? It's just a retextured cow that drops red muhsrooms and gets its normal texture back when sheared. And what large amounts of power does the mooshroom have? As for the OP, love the idea!
Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
To many mushroom mobs would ruin the idea of mushroom mobs. Perhaps one more mob that is mushroom related would be fine, anything else shouldnt be. But I'm not sure what type of the one mob would fit with a mushroom skin...
It's the most powerful farm animal in the game, by far. Besides dropping steak and leather like a normal cow, and being able to milk it like a normal cow, you can also milk mushroom stew out of them. That's a basically inifite stew source from just a single mooshroom.
Well...Other mobs like zombie mushrooms and such don't have to be farmable, or even be milked, being milked is a cow thing.
Yeah...I dunno what mobs would actually fit in with mushrooms, creepers are already plants, so perhaps a mushroom creeper?
But like I said earlier: It could be nice for custom maps, but then again, texture packs. But then of course you would not have the regular looking mobs if you used a mushroom themed texture pack.

Well, when you put it that way....Yeah, now that I think about it the excitement of finding a spider jockey went down when they added more, and I think if more mushroom mobs were added, that excitement would also kinda deteriorate. Then again mushroom islands are really rare, so perhaps it'd still be exciting to find the mushroom mobs.
Well it is in the suggestion, so yes I am. I'm just noting that it'd be creepy, like normal silverfish.
Well, custom maps could do it, but I dunno I'm the same guy who likes to be attacked constantly through the night with only my stone sword. It'd be one of those things that most players don't see. Like I'm sure if you mention baby zombies on chickens to people who didn't view the wiki, they would have no idea what you are talking about. This is kind of like that.
. . .In reply to Cerroz, why, quoting, did you break? -.-

Can't say I disagree. Adding more would add more reason to find this biome. Though you can still add too much and overcrowd and water things down. Don't worry though, your idea hasn't done that. I'd be extremely curious to see what a "Shreep" would be like. When you say these new mobs "have no different stats at all", you mean they're just retextures?
Well it is in the suggestion, so yes I am. I'm just noting that it'd be creepy, like normal silverfish.
Fair enough. Though that would be a third silverfish... Second being the Endermites if you want to count that.

Well, yes for the most part they are the same aside from dropping mushrooms instead. Yeah I do believe there is barely a reason to go to a mushroom island right now. Once you have a decent wall around a base and a farm, there really isn't much in the mushroom island biome.
Endermites...? Didn't know about them until now. But yeah, one more silverfish of creepy.
Yep, liking these new forums. sarcasm.
