This has been a new feature regarding the new Minecraft installer but unfortunately it is only for WIndows :I Maybe there will be in the future some sort of installer that is similar to the one that is currently for Windows.
No, it is not a cracked Minecraft Launcher. Oracle has a utility that is designed to create a "Mac" app with Java embedded. Apple prefers this method of using apps made with Java by distributing the app with Java embedded. I simply followed the instructions provided at the following site:
Download Minecraft with Java for Mac
This version does not require you to install Java as it is already included in the file!
