With this addition redstone will be more realistic. Redstone torches and redstone blocks only last for a bit of time. Torches last 5 MC days and blocks last 10. How do you fix it? With a generator! There are many types of generators that are used different ways.
Battery are like a replacement for repeaters. Repeaters will be removed in the game. They store energy and on a button/lever they will let the power through. I'll use tabula to show you what it looks like (Can't get colors to work ;'( Sorry!)
Yeah, I was pretty annoyed, but as I said, maybe a gamerule?
I posted my comment before I saw your gamerule one.
And, it could work as a gamerule, set to off by default, but I don't know who would use it (Survival challange map makers? That would actually be cool)
This is 100% my opinion, but adding a gamerule set to false is a bad excuse to keep it in, due to the fact that it'll hardly ever be used. The idea is real neat, but it just seems more fitting for a mod. That way those "automate everything" players that survive on it will.... no longer survive.... as easily, back to the mines they go for iron!
