Pigmen shouldn't be in the Nether. They should spawn in Mob Villages only. It wouldn't fit if they spawned in the Nether. Unless they're Zombies. But the other mobs? << That's what I think about them.

Another thing I disagree about is the Zombie Pigman change. No-no. They ARE Pigmen. Same behavior. This isn't the Holy Bible. I know Pigmen will be neutral. But why should Zombie Pigmen be aggressive? They're nice zombies. The only zombies I like. <That's right! I don't like you, Mr. Zombie! He's better! >

I really like the ideas here. This would not only make the Nether more useful, but more fun as well.
I do have a couple of ideas in areas that you left room for them. For Hellbulbs, maybe players could use water to disarm them, and then rearm them with fire. I would assume that a tool made from Grimwood would be the best choice to collect it after it is disarmed. Perhaps even make the explosion small, but powerful and instant so a player won't risk collecting it without disarming it. Then to create a worthwhile explosive from it, you use Saprophyte to make a large powerful explosion. If it was implement like this, then we could build more controlled explosions with blast sizes compared like so...
just Hellbulb < TNT < Hellbulb + Saprophyte mixture Where Hellbulb has the smallest radius.
This would also leave room for other things to be done with Saprophyte, as it would simply increase the blast radius off Hellbulb significantly.

Sabata, I checked it out, and I personally dislike your thread in comparison to this one.
No Mossian stamp of approval, Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Work on it more and I might, but the furnace being turned into a freezer is a no. the cold needs to be held in. Such as the freezer in this thread, and the battery idea. It would be difficult to turn the Furnace into a freezer.

I'm proud to be an Anti-Griefer. (I fix what they break!)
GENERATION 17: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
Modifying the Freezer to work as a secondary application of the Furnace saves block IDs, recipes possibilities, and requires only minor additions to code.
Trust me guys, I liked the Freezer of this thread too. It made sense to me in Minecraftian logic (well sans the stupid power source required), but Grey's implementation is far faster, easier, and leaves more room for OTHER things.
Don't want to be mean, but to be completely honest, I think this one is much better. Also, you misspelled "Foreword".

Maybe when you mine regular trees with the inferno axe, it will sometimes have a chance of droping charcoal, although it will probably start a forest fire. I also like the idea of the inferno hoe gathering roasted seeds.
Yeah this thread is better so stop trying to spam this thread with that.
1) Have you actually read the opening post of THIS thread instead of just looking at the single picture of all the mockup items? This suggestion is absolutely glutted with material and recipes that are either completely overpowered and serve no purpose except possibly one single task that could have easily been added to an already existing block/item/material instead. The Mob section barely has a sentence for each mob.
The New Nether suggestion that Sabata and I propose has;
BALANCED Tools with unique abilities that make them desirable but don't make overworld tools superfluous
UNIQUE mobs each with their own attack style that makes battling them a completely different experience
a method for volcanoes WITH eruptions that allow them to occur naturally AND even be built by the player.
a method for different size portals (the larger of which will increase the chances of Nether mobs getting into the Overworld)
Dungeons that you can't break the walls to get to the treasure without going through properly.
A SIMPLE method for boating across lava.
2) you complain that Sabata is spamming, but you quoted him along with his link to the New Nether suggestion thread, so you're only helping "spam" it more. LOL.

The mechanics of some of the content in Scarecrowman & Friend's concept aren't as good and could use some work, but it's still a better concept/idea overall (mechanics can be fixed; ideas are not so easily fixed). It's simple and adds more 'levels' to the game. It attracts players by offering useful and valueable tools/gear to show off back in the overworld (or even the Aether, fingers crossed), but also allows for players to base themselves solely in the Nether. Every player can benefit from frequent visits to either world and they can do it their way. It's an 'extension' to the game that appeals to a variety of players that is consistent with the feel of Minecraft.
The concept you and Sabata proposed has some great mechanics, but it's more about how YOU want to see the Nether environment. It's over-complicated in some areas (Midas Tears and eruptions, while cool ideas, are getting a bit too complicated), there's less gear/items to tantalise players with and they're only really of any use on the Nether (why would I bother bringing them back if they're less effective/durable on the overworld?). The environment is more of an 'alternative' to the overworld that imposes a specific style of play. It basically says, "the Nether world is for Nether players". While this may be very attractive to a certain type of player, it does not appeal to everyone.
The Scarecrowman & Friends Nether concept (or inspiration thereof) would be a great addition to Minecraft, as it has something for everyone; much like Minecraft in general. The Sabata/GreyAcumen Nether concept on the other hand, would make a great mod, as it appeals to a niche target audience.
These ideas are fantastic! I hope that you continue updating. Don't give up!
I had an idea for the saprophyte. Perhaps there could be some kind of weather for the Nether, perhaps acid rain that would damage you and wear away at the item you're holding and some blocks. Eating saprophyte/applying it to your armor somehow may protect you against this.
The Nether Suggestion Sabata and I are working on doesn't add obsidian, but it does add a way to create obsidian in the Nether, and while it doesn't add Gunpowder as a mineable resource, there are new explosives that can be gathered directly (though it might be worth considering adding the ability to get Gunpowder from them by crafting them)
Oh, here it is:
The New Nether A balanced and cohesive collection of improvements for the Nether
Grey's and Sabata's Nether is so much better. This is super confusing and stupid. The only thing I like more is the freezer but that's pretty much it. May this thread be locked and forgotten.
The freezer makes no sense. Why would you have to go to hell to gather some magical wood that is colder than freezing temperature (That grows in hell) to be crafted into a Freezer. Does Ice have no use?

Also i assume this belongs to you folk. I like its idea but i dont think it should go in the nether or provide a basic food item in a giant bee-hive
