I had a cool idea. what if there was a liquid in the nether that flows like water but UP. you will also move faster while going up and the liquid is completely opaque. It will spawn in little pockets surrounded by netherrack when you open the cavity it comes spewing upwards.
like this: = this liguid = nether rack
It will also only be able to be in the nether and anywhere else it will turn to ice. you will still suffocate in it though.
Every thing on this thread is so awesome
Yep. Soulplasm.

WE ARE STILL UPDATING THIS PAGE. IT WILL BE COMPLETE BY THURSDAY MARCH 4TH. WE HAVE A LOT TO DO, SO SIT TIGHT!
You've delayed this 4 times. I reccommend you update soon, because I can see supporters getting impatient.
I've delayed twice. And yes we're moving quickly... but uh... if supporters abondon us I can't do anything. I don't think its going to be that big of a problem. This is huge thread and my group hasn't had much time with all the ordinary day life tasks. Again... please be patient with us. We're extremely sorry and doing all we can to update the page.
I also fixed the date on the front page. The fourth is actually on a friday.
Sapropype are strange whitish plants with a bell like blossom that grow on soulsand blocks. A use for this plant has yet to be suggested.
I know they aren't on the Soul Sand, but here was a little graphic I made of it.
Perhaps they can be crushed up to make a Beige/Peach dye. As simple and underwhelming as that sounds, there are going to me tons of people happy to see it, due to the massive demand for flesh colored dyes by pixel artists and moral makers.
Good idea. I was thinking about making the use tea... but I wonder if I could combine the ideas.
I had two ideas for the saropype and was to lazy to search through all the post here. The first is the same as every other flower; turn it into a dye or use as decoration. Of course the dye would be color dependent. My second suggestion would be to use it as some sort of attractant for mobs like a venus fly trap uses its nectar. If it was aable tobe refined you could tip arrows with it to make hostiles ignore you. Of course it would have to make the arrow fade faster than normal ones so you wouldn't be going outside at night shooting twenty of these and not having to worry. You could also use these to draw in animals.
I think the only way you should be able to get hell bulbs is to use a hoe. Than you could use the hell bulb to make exploding arrows. These arrows would be much weaker than regular dynamite but would still cause explosions. To mine these in the over world you would need blocks of netherrack near lava instead of dirt near water. This would make farming them extremely dangerous especialy if they lit while in the lava. Suddenly your farm goes up like a meth-lab.

LOL. Good points. I like the venus flytrap idea. We're adding that feature to the Mob details for the Gulper. Basically, its a bgiant mob-eating Saprophyte plant. I already came up with the concept that the plant itself would be a mob eater, but I never thought of it as attracting mobs. I think I'm going to design it to look and act like a venus flytrap now... so cool.

I like that idea, are you using some of the suggestions Blahblah made? I think some of those could make it quite interesting. I also like the tea idea, maybe the leaves can still be made into tea, but by smelting for a short amount of time they could also be made into dye, and in their raw form they attract mobs.
Kitrinite makes me think of kittens, if it was KINtrite, I could imagine it as, 'akin to Charoite'.
Also, yeah Infernium is awesome.
I had an idea for a block called Deinos, which looks like a Netherrack with eyes. The eyes are actually bacterium who make a limestone mound (the white) and the Bacterium is the Iris, the Pupil is Bacteria that has become old and turned black. It would be mined for Deinos Bacterium (also know as Deinos Dust), which is used as Yeast in Netherbread.
Hmm... interesting concept. Farming something like that would be better than mining it... you know... with a hoe, instead of pickaxe... or perhaps that's what you meant. I actually like the idea of a yeast, although the game currently has a bread recipe that is considerably simpler. I like the idea of harvesting another Nether fungus/bacterium a lot as well... and for food especially. However, I need to find a purpose for saprophyte before going on to something like yeast. What would be good for saprophyte? Someone has suggested it to be used as lava Sponge... but however cool that might be, it just doesn't really match what saprophyte is or what it does. Hmm...
Based upon some things I've read, researchers claim that Indian Pipe, (the flower I based the Nether Saprophyte on,) has medicinal properties... specifically as a nervine medication.
After much inspiration on account of PwnageguyXD's suggestion about green nether flowers and tea, I figured... why not use that for Saprophyte? In the next revamp I may imply that after harvesting saprophyte, it could be made into ground tea leaves and then mixed into bucket of water along with sugar, in order to make a tea to serve as a form of powerful, yet elongated-timespan health restoration. In other words... each drink would heal you up to 5 hearts, but over a long period of time... like half a minecraft day or so. Its not only a delicious beverage... its also a medicinal one.
It could be the beverage at hosted tea parties, along with Slime Jello dessert and cake.
What do you all think about that?
Why thank you for considering my suggestion. I think yeah, it's a good idea, but accelerate the process so it's 1/4 of a day instead of 1/2.
And herroprease, **** NO. Stop spamming this thread, sebby. I know you're sitting next to me in the comp lab, but i'm still sending this to you.
I like it! This would actually make the nether a place worth mining in, instead of a suicidal deathtrap.
Although it would be far more dangerous, the riches & rewards seem rather promising.
You have my full support sir.

I was simply stating they don't get pissed at fire and explosions. They get quite pissed when i rip out a gatling gun and shoot their children
lol, I just realized a cool idea: NETHERBEDS AND NETHER TIMEZ!
The nether should have time, like the overworld. Unlike the Aether, having Daylight and Daeylight, The Nether has Nighttime and Nitetime.
Night is simply standard night, except a bit brighter, any blocks without light glowstone, lava, fire etc. will become light level 5.
Nite is darker than what the nether is now-All unlit blocks will become light level 0 Zombie pigmen will turn agressive in light under 4, making them a danger at Nite. When the nether is first generated, it will be the beginning of night, so you don't get overwhelmed.
Mobs should only spawn on nether materials (excluding obsidian) to prevent a horde of z. Pigmen running around in your house.
Netherbeds! Crafted with Grimwood instead of normal wood and allows you to sleep at Nite in the nether. Just like normal beds cannot be used in the nether, Netherbeds can only be used at Nite, making them unusable in the overworld.
Nether Stuff! Gold clocks stuff up in the nether, so get your nether clock and compass! Same use as normal ones, but for the nether.Nether compasses direct you to the nearest NETHER (Not Aether) portal and CAN be used in the overworld. Other Nether-devices Cannot be used in Overworld. Dunno what that grimwood device is...
= DIAMOND block, not Kitrinite. =Hard Durodium Ingot =RedstoneDust =Kitrinite Gem =That stuff used to make sanctuary blocks. =Sanctuary Block

Ore Detectors!
These work in the nether AND the overworld, and even the Aether-An all-purpose device. Yeah, It's expensive, but it points to the most valuable ore within 4 chunks. It will spin violently if you are directly under or above it. WARNING: This will ignore lava and long falls, so it will NOT guide you away from dangerous caverns, pits or, worst of all, Lava.
Hope U like it, srry no pics.

Just to clarify, the creator is making the mod himself, which is pretty amazing (: it's taking him a while, but he's making more ideas at the same time, so I'm perfectly happy with it. He also accomplished something even notch himself said wasn't possible, so I think this guy is doing an amazing job
I am not sure if I am the only one that noticed this or not, but right now there is no need to go to the nether unless you want a fire place, so we really need updated nether.

*salutes* I am Dave! Yognaut! (If you know what this means, then copy it into your sig)
So, as most of you already know, the Nether is a new world in Minecraft. And it lacks on quite a lot of things. So, what if there was a new Block in the Nether called CreepariumNitronium Brimstone? It'd add a bit more to the Nether. It obeys gravity when distrupted by something else (Arrow, Fireball, Another block). It spawns in a similar position to Lightstone (up to 10 blocks in a cluster), and EXPLODES after falling ANY amount of blocks 4+ blocks, and hitting a block underneath it. It'll give 1 gunpowder 10% of the time, and will look like the image below.
What do you think?

I think there should be some kind of warning. Like, maybe when the player hits it it sparks, and if the player burrows through it it explodes. That way you won't get random why the hell did I just get exploded syndrome that I think would turn off a lot of potential players, myself included.
This block would NOT explode if you use wood tools though because they wouldn't make sparks. That would make this block really useful for building traps or anti-theft walls.
Brimstone sounds like a great block to have in the Nether, however can it explode if you light it on fire (like TNT) or is shock impact enough to cause it to explode?
More or less I see this being a unique interesting hazard to the Nether, but it's not nearly enough to make it enjoyable.

Great ideas, but there are sooooo many mobs D: I like fire slimes, archers, new ores and the grimwood but dont think that there should be too many implementations or the nether would become too complicated :tongue.gif:
