Hey everyone. Sorry its been a while since I last posted on my own thread... LOL.
Honestly, I have had the darndest time trying to note every detail my group liked about all of your suggestions. I'm really working hard to get it all together.
Regardless of whether or not its ready... there WILL be a major revamp by March 1st.
The mojority of additions and changes will include these three things:
-Only certain Mob details that we chose to put in our thread and new recipes for their drops. (FOOD AND OTHERS.)
-Changes to important item errors. (In other words, I'm fixing important details that needed to be changed... such as durodium items. -After much deliberation, my group and I have decided that in the new revamp Hard Durodium will not last forever... but they are still incredibly strong. New level in the tier?)
There will be an ore scale in the revamp, to show where every ore fits into place with those from the overworld.
-Lastly, there will be a lot of detail on specially chosen biomes... ones which stood out to us in particular.
I hope that in this revamp, you'll all see the significant changes you've been waiting for.
As a reminder, I just want to say that Notch... if he reads this post... he should implement what he likes and leave out the rest. Minecraft is his creation and it should be original... particularly to his liking.
Thanks guys.

I really think that this project should be more community oriented. Rather than you just picking the ideas you and your friends like.
Each week you could present a new topic for discussion, and everyone would post their ideas for this topic. For instance, biomes. At the end of this week, you would quote all of these suggestions in the opening post, and set up a poll. Over the next week, people would vote for their favorite suggestion, and whichever one is the most popular would be the one chosen and implemented in the main thread.
This would then repeat over the next two weeks with a new topic, and eventually all of the favorite suggestions would have been implemented.

where is the download link i cant seem to find it O_O
Does it say [MOD] on the post? No? Then it's not a mod.
This is, very obviously spread out and REPETITIVELY mentioned as a list of things we would LIKE NOTCH to add. If you're incapable of reading the post, why even be on the thread at all? At least read the main post, for Nether's sake.

Wow, just...wow. Overall, best idea I've seen in forever, and I agree--I'd love to see a lot more stuff added to the Nether, and I love a lot of these ideas--particularly the glowing mushrooms and being able to make glowing cloth and such.
One thing I'd want to say though, is that if it gets done, I'd also like to see the ghasts toned down a tiny bit--not taken out or weakened down TOO much necessarily, just maybe the spawn amounts turned down a little, since they would now not be the ONLY truly-hostile mob in the Nether, and adding all the new stuff (now we'd have ghasts AND dragons AND spiders AND skeletons AND shadow entities and MORE on top of that...? Think about it...) AND keeping them as is might be slightly overkill, though, I can't say for sure.
Also, as a random note, if there are going to be shades/shadows/etc., I'd say they should only appear in areas below a specific light level (finally, an incentive to actually have to light your nether base <_< ). I know, that seems really obvious, but unless I missed it in my reading, I don't think I ever saw that mentioned. So I just thought I'd throw that out there.
Also note, none of this is even *remotely* a complaint (I love most of the stuff suggested here, so I've no reason to complain, and I'd REALLY like more Nether content regardless of how much of it's from here), just more of something that occurred to me and I thought might be smart to consider (I mean, in regards to the ghasts and how much of a pain they can already be at times on their own, depending on what you're trying to do).
Oh, and I forgot to say, which I meant to--I think the shades/shadows/nethersouls/whatever-word-you-want-to-use would be better as hostile mobs than friendly ncps. No real reason, except personal opinion, though--the whole idea of those kind of things creeping up on you out of the dark seem a lot better and creepier/scarier/etc. than half the other hostile mob ideas.
I mean, just imagine if you woke up in your bed (well, if one worked in the Nether at some point), and having one of those things just standing over you, or digging into a cave, and seeing about twenty pairs of gold, glowing eyes down in there...o_o
The nether is already really scary.
Let's make it scarier!
Scarier, I could live with, just as long as it's not any noisier.
Because, god, the sounds the ghasts already make...it's like listening to a REALLY fussy baby, *loud* meowing, and slightly-sped-up voice clips of Yoshi, all meshed together, constantly, at maximum volume. o_o
I always have to either turn up music to half-drown it out, or else turn the volume all the way down after about 30 seconds of listening to it, just to keep my sanity intact. <_<;
new, more ominous sounds and epic ones like the example he has that im listening to right now?
Yes.
Shrooms? Count me in.
(jk, im not an addict.)
this suggestion seems very halloweenish oriented.
(hint hint find notch and force it down his throat show him this so he has a new halloweenupdate idea)
The goodness in the Nether lies in its simplicity: 2 mobs, 3 blocks.
I like it, it's just survivable, and the stuff you can get is worth going, while it doesn't invite you to go there too much.

This update destroys that entirely, sorry.
The idea of this as an update is to give more reasons to go to the Nether than just for glowstone, while simultaneously giving it a "nowhere is safe" feel. Also, many people challenge themselves with "living in the nether", and with these additions you could theoretically do that forever without needing to resupply.

I once saw a chicken push a creeper off of a cliff. I never looked at chickens the same way ever again. That is of course until I needed feathers.
I don't think Pigmen should be added to the Nether. I think they should be the Nether equivalent of their zombie form, but in the normal world. Then the fact that the zombie pigmen are there could be explained...

This will make the Nether a lot more fun!
Definetly supporting!
