Yeah... I like that. There is an aggressive plant suggested... I'm not sure if its similar to the one you speak of... but It's called a sapropod. It eats mobs... and its favorite food are humans and pigmen, regarless of whether or not they are Zombified.

What elements do you consider to be missing? The mobs posted on this thread are little more than two or three sentence descriptions. And about that, may I make new threads for each mob I make a model for, so as not to clutter this thread with pictures?
*Sigh...
Its very hard to communicate over written word. There's no emotion, so I can't tell if somebody's pissed or just trying to point out something. My intention is not to vex readers.
Let me re-phrase what I said. I LIKE YOUR CONCEPT A LOT. However, I think it needs to be considered for revision. It has a very strong potential, but we need to think more about what it drops.
In your post you explain that it does basically what a pig does. AND I LIKE THE FACT THAT ITS A PASSIVE MOB. Animals in the Nether... that's simply EPIC. However, it would be cool to touch a bit more on what the drop does. Is it just another form of meat like pork OR does it do special things? Also... would it drop PORK or a NEW ITEM?
As far as making new thread for Mobs... I like the idea... but we need to discuss it with everyone. If we do decide to make mobs separated though, can we link to eachother's threads in order to keep uniformity?
I would prefer 5 vote abilities, because none of the mobs are thought out enough to get behind.
They're either a reskin or just completely undeveloped.
The Nether does need more mobs, but none of the proposed ones are any good.
Well, there are more original ones, like Nethersouls and Imps, but Xurich took up all the extra space with "NO!" votes and general mob votes.
Also Xurich, remember the pick-and-choose-notch philosophy? I think this is one place where it can apply strongly. We don't neccesarily need to eliminate a whole bunch of them, but maybe a few that are a little too controversial. We don't need to worry about there being too many mobs, Notch decides how many mobs there are and which ones he likes.
Yes. I agree.
However, I would like to say this again:
My group has decided that we should run polls in chunks. We'll be having several more polls as time goes on... with different suggested mobs for each poll.
The highest voted mobs of all polls will be added altogther in a final poll... to determine which mobs are liked best.
We're trying to determine which concepts are better than others here. If that doesn't sound right, please explain why we should do it the other way.
I have to say, I like most of these Idea. The Thermostite needs two ingots and only gives one stick? Seems like they should give two, making it a total of 5 ingots to make one pick-axe, which is two solid blocks. Another idea, Light over a certain level should uproot the Nether mushrooms, much like darkness does for flowers. The Mushrooms make, let's say, a level of 6. Over a level of 10 should uproot them. this Includes torches, which have a level of (I believe) 14.
Other than that I enjoy all of the additions to the environment. give people more of a reason to stay in the Nether other than glowstone.
I don't ike most of the mobs, but then again, it's not my job too, and other people enjoy them. I'm just not sure of their practicality (a thing I enjoy for most of the content in the game.) I hate zombies and gravel due to their low use. The only use being, Arrows. And that's at a low rate. I believe you should create drops (and uses) for each mob you crate as well. The skeletons drops Dark Bones, making Dark Bonemeal, only for use on Grimmwood, etc. I hope this has been a useful addition to the thread, and I do hope that these ideas get added into your own, and that the all knowing Nizzotch (as his Youtube is named) sees this thread.

I like them all it kind of gives minecraft something more interesting it's like a whole nother realm. And it gives the nether a purpose instead of an easy source of lava and lightstone. maybe also this could be a mod if notch doesn't want to add don't leave him all the work.
I personally think Mojang needs a person who's whole job is just scanning the forums under the name "Mojang" and looking at ideas, posting in threads, and seeing what the people WANT.

When Notch was asked about mobs, He said he prefers unique mobs, that are different from others in appearace, abilities, etc.
The mobs here are just copied mobs, just with a "new coat of paint" and some Nether related name. I prefer some badass flying serpent that shoots blue fire out of its mouth and is very difficult to tame for riding.

I watched the whole mini comic in your icon... ANYWAYS. A cool, original mob Ive seen for the nether is the Famine, which I think is linked in the OP. (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=79221)
That's a good mob that would bring terror back to the Nether.

I definitely want more mobs... Nether's pretty cool. but i dunno, I'm not sure what i think of the idea. I definitely don't want dragons. I think Notch was going for something creepy. dragons are not creepy. The nether already has a fire-ball-shooting mob, anyway. a freezer coming from a place with seas of lava doesn't really make sense though, you know? I like the slime balls that catch fire. fire and lava i think is definitely the main theme of the nether.
Hey, I know that I sure ain't , but I think that this could still be an uber-popular mod, which would bring it to his attention even MORE!
Anyway, I've got some spare time this (upcoming) weekend, and I was wondering if you'd be O.K. if I took a shot at taking this from a suggestion to a mod.
I'm not promising anything godly, but the items/blocks would be reasonable, and a couple mobs wouldn't be too much trouble either.
Don't you agree Notch?

There are no concepts behind any of your suggested mobs yet... :sleep.gif:
I mean the most expanded one is Charred Skeletons and that's JUST a reskin.
Your monster suggestions need to be fleshed out FIRST, THEN voted on.
That is why my mind is boggled by the fact that he thinks his mobs are better than the pordenfer.
And here's the link to my proposal for how the sapropod should work.
