I would like to clarify. The models will be for screenshots, so that peeps can see an example image of the Mobs I will be suggesting in the next revamp.
But yes make models... please. When somebody starts advertising a decent mod, he could use those models as a resource.

What mobs do you want models for?
I re-edited my post.
For now we need some for Red Dragons and Charredbone Archers.

I want to be honest and say, I don't really like the 'Red Dragon' idea. It's too... simple. Plus, in my mind it would spawn in the Overworld, not the Nether. I think they should be replaced with Undead Dragons.
So far on the list (this includes everything without a model, including non-approved)
Red Dragon
Charredbone Skeletons
Centipede
Rolly Polly
Poison Spiders
Sapropods
Lava Monster
Shade
Nethershrew
Mysterious Hands (I don't like these all too much either)
Fire Slimes
Magmabat
Undead Dragon
Demon Cat (see below)
Red Mossy Catfish (see below)
Sheeper (creator has not specified if this is supposed to be part of this or not)
Skeleton Cowboys (creator has not specified if this is supposed to be part of this or not, )
Spicken (creator has not specified if this is supposed to be part of this or not)
Netherhound (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellhound ) Scorpion-roaches
I am going to examine other posts and see if I can find any more. :wink.gif:
Demon Cat
Desc: I was looking for a legendary creature to name my Red Mossy Catfish after, and I found this.
Demon Cat (or D.C.)[1] is the name given to the ghost of a cat which is purported to haunt the government buildings of Washington, D.C.. This cat is not actually a Demon, just a trouble making ghost. When attack this black cat (with gleaming red eyes) will grow to the size of a Siberian Tiger.
Tolerance: aggressive
Speed: very fast
Health: ???
Attack Strength: 4.5
Drops: ???
That one doesn't strike me as something for this topic. But I posted it anyway.
Red Mossy Catfish
Desc: a large red Goonch Catfish, covered in the Red Moss from Netherrack. They spawn in lava and are completely fireproof.
Tolerance: passive
Speed: slower than the player
Health: 12
Drops: Cooked Fish, Netherrack

Hmm. The charredbone archers don't seem particularly creative. Can I do the sapropods instead?
I can see already that there is a HUGE gap in agreement on which mobs should be added to the Nether.
Regardless of what we think... Notch is going to do what he wants. Many people, (with very sound arguements,) have concluded that there shouldn't be too many more Mobs in the Nether. With this, I and my Nether group has agreed.
To keep things simple and organized... we have created a poll system for determining which concepts should be included in this suggestion.
This first poll includes Charredbone Archers, Red Dragons and Pigmen.
There will be several more polls for the next month or so. Based upon the outcome of these polls, (we will use the highest voted decisions made by voters,) we will find which mobs rock... and which ones fail.
Now, the mobs need to make sense, and they need to FIT the Nether. WE ONLY WANT MOBS THAT ARE GOING TO BE SPAWNING IN THE NETHER. -Although me may INCLUDE the implementation of overworld mobs such as Spiderjockys/SkeletonCowboys seperately in the update suggestion as well.
The last poll we have will include the highest voted mobs... and from those, my group will pick three hostile and three neutral mobs to officially adopt into our thread. VOTE WISELY. We can't include all these ideas. It's simply impractical and unfortunate.
What is the pordenfer? Oh... I see. Your concept. I like it, but it seems to be missing an element or two.
I'm going to bring this to my group. We'll discuss the idea of placing it in our Polls.
-Peace
What elements do you consider to be missing? The mobs posted on this thread are little more than two or three sentence descriptions. And about that, may I make new threads for each mob I make a model for, so as not to clutter this thread with pictures?
I would prefer 5 vote abilities, because none of the mobs are thought out enough to get behind.
They're either a reskin or just completely undeveloped.
The Nether does need more mobs, but none of the proposed ones are any good.
This is me popping in and giving a suggestion for Sapropype. Yep.
Simply put, it could be crafted into Sapropype Poweder or something of the sort, which could... okay okay SO MAYBE I HAVE TWO INCOMPATABLE SUGGESTIONS, SO WHAT
A: Put out fires when placed on a block (maybe even make it fireproof for a short time?)... or
B: When placed on a block next to a flaming block, the flame will spread to the block with Sapropype Powder on it. This would probably work like Redstone Dust.
I have my reasons for liking both of them; A prevents fire-griefing to an extent, while B pretty much advertises it. But B could be used to make FIREMOATS and other things pretty easily, and could maybe redirect the path of a forest fire? Heck if I know.
I'm just about done with the art for the sapropods. I will be posting them in a separate thread from which I will link to this thread. Along with the models, I will also be posting how I think they should work, because the current description is not very descriptive.

Sure. And I really like the catfish idea.
HEY, I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO SOLVE THE CHAINMAIL ISSUE. Unless, someone has already solved it.
It would work like this: (SULPHUR IS REPLACING THE RING)
[] [] [] = x 8
[] []
Chainmail would be a cheaper alternative to iron plate armor, but not as durable... lasting longer than leather armor but less than iron plate.
To build things, the same as any armor, only with rings.

(Helm recipe for instance.)
I'm glad you like it. (The Spider is smiling)
I changed the drop to Cooked Fish though, it seems practical to me.

Well, there are more original ones, like Nethersouls and Imps, but Xurich took up all the extra space with "NO!" votes and general mob votes.
Also Xurich, remember the pick-and-choose-notch philosophy? I think this is one place where it can apply strongly. We don't neccesarily need to eliminate a whole bunch of them, but maybe a few that are a little too controversial. We don't need to worry about there being too many mobs, Notch decides how many mobs there are and which ones he likes.

That gives me an idea: when the Sapropype Powder receives redstone power it ignites until the power turns off.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I once saw a chicken push a creeper off of a cliff. I never looked at chickens the same way ever again. That is of course until I needed feathers.
