The Scarecrowman & Friends Nether concept (or inspiration thereof) would be a great addition to Minecraft, as it has something for everyone; much like Minecraft in general. The Sabata/GreyAcumen Nether concept on the other hand, would make a great mod, as it appeals to a niche target audience.
I agree with this. I like both threads, but I think this one would target a wider audience, and fit in the real Minecraft better.[/quote]
That's exactly the problem with it. The whole "has something for everyone" might as well be saying "It doesn't make any difference which one you're in! You might as well just reskin the Overworld!"
The Nether is a DIFFERENT Realm. It should FEEL different and PLAY differently and use different strategies to succeed in it.

Yes it should be different, but it should also be consistent. In my opinion, Scarecrowman's concept has room to go a bit further, but yours goes too far.
In the end, the choice about how the Nether evolves is up to Mojang, but no doubt they've had a good look at both concepts by now.
What? No Nether Worm? I realize my suggestion reached the very bottom of the pit as soon as Search was lost to us, but I will post another picture as an interesting reminder.
The Netherwurm is already a suggestion that has been incorporated into the New Nether thread.
So? Does it mean that both threads can't have it? After all, you basicly copied this thread with the cold trees, heat tools, and glowsand.
Considering that I'm the one who came up with both Cold Trees (from the Aether Suggestion, which I organize and maintain) and Glowsand (from Extended 2x2 Crafting Grid suggestion, which is just straight out my suggestion) to begin with, I'm not seeing your issue.

Not to mention we give credit for the things we took from this thread...
Also, Grey, you really don't need to defend our thread here. If people want to bash it as a "lame copy" then let them lie in their ignorance.
We just need to keep our thread bumped and maybe relink it here every two pages or something and leave it at that.
I feel so bad for saying this.. You have such a nice chart all made up...
I don't really like the ideas, but if you kind of made the tools have super-cool special uses [Ex]
Also, as a child of a graphic designer, I don't really like the lime-green-and-purple color scheme.
But Free Diamondz and internetz for your super schmexy chart:
I know that light years are a measure of distance. I'd said it for some [no] reason.
Anyway, I would be able to get to the End of Universe and back before any of Zurich's replies...I understand aspects like lack of time, exams, being out of comp, but sometimes I'm just unpatient - it's disadvantage of humanity, then you don't have a reason to blame me for it...
Sorry, I've been doing a week of work experience in a sciencey-place (the Rutherford-Appleton Laboratories in Didcot, UK), so all I can think about is the speed of light and time travel. But I completely agree with you, it will probably be trillions of years until we get a reply!
EDIT: Here are some pictures I made of FireWheat, FireWheat seeds and FireBread. What do you think? (See one of my previous posts about what these do, I can't remember XP)
I was looking through the posts and I thought this looked cool, but how would you eat it if it's on fire?
to evry modders, if you want to make a nethermod with mobs, i can try to make them... but only with mob maker, im new and i want to learn... i will and i will be the best mobmaker :wink.gif:
Hello? I was just looking at your picture on the original ideas page with the new stuff. What are those new foods and those upgrades? I would just like some info on this please. Two of those new foods look kinda like jellybeans, and those new arrows aren't described (except for the poison one), and what is that bow? The boat? I think the boat should be a boat that crosses lava, especially for Nether travel. Crafting recipe:
[] [] []
[] =
= Grimwood
= The new boat.
New food:
Jellybeans
Healing power: 2 hearts
Appearance: Looks like bone meal, but red.
Mint
Healing power (raw): .5 hearts
Appearance: Just basically a green rose.
Can be crafted with a bucket of milk to make tea.
[] []
[] [] =
[] []
= Tea
= Mint
= Bucket of milk
= Sugar
Tea
Healing power (cold): 3.5 hearts
Warm: 5 hearts
Can be warmed by putting in a furnace for a bit.
Looks like a bucket of milk, but the milk looks green, light green.
If mint ever happened, i should look like real mint, not just a re-color of something almost completely unrelated. Also, im sorry fo not being here for afew months :sad.gif: I mised this place... Also, i would like to know of any major changes or ideas floating around in here, since they are now lost in the many posts this thing has been getting.
PM me if you can please :smile.gif: I will however look around here some more and stare at all the awesome.
But I think adding new tools is useless unless they have special abilities like that inferno sword.
Agreed.
I think we should keep it to:
-Grimwood tools, special ability is freezing/cold.
-Inferno tools, special ability is burning/fire.
-Trash the Kitrinide and Durodium tools.
-Kitrinide could still be used in crafting of the sanctuary and portal blocks, as well as powering the freezer.
-Durodium could still be used in making near-indestructible armor, but get rid of the "hard and soft" thing-- that makes it too complicated.
If you make the mushrooms into a server mod, I will love you forever, and I know everyone else will too.

What the **** is with these ridiculously strict signature rules? One image? No taller than 100px?! (That's 1.3") One URL? Two lines of text?!?! The **** is this ****?!

-Charoite needs no changes.
Also, an idea for the Hellbulbs: Dynamite
More powerful then TNT, with an explosion power of about 6, with TNT at 4 and a Creeper at 3.
Crafting:
Red mushroom is Hellbulb.
