There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed his desire to become a great writer.
When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream, cry, howl in pain and anger!"
He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.
To be honest, I really don't know if I support this.
I've always thought of Minecraft as an infinite open world with tons of freedom. The less amount of teleporting, the more it feels like a single, mysterious world.
Last, but never the least, IT WOULD LAG. let me quote someone. How about what if you discovered the entire area, or your underground and the place is loading. It would lag like hell.
Each layer is a different dimension, like the Nether or the End. That means lag will not be a problem.

Having the layers put in different dimensions isnt really much of a good concept. Stacked chunks would make way more sense. Meaning, there would be lots of 128x128 chunks stacked on top of each others, and theres always 2-3 of them loaded vertically, the ones around the player.
But no matter how much more we contribute or talk about this concept, truth is, it is never going to make it into the game.
BUT... it would sure be possible to make a mod like this, if you would be interested in that. If you can get a few modders together to do this as a mod, it would sure get alot of support. Definitely more than it would get from Mojang. I mean, their lighting engine is so broken, it would totally destroy the fps on some of these, especially the ones with lots of lava, and the ones that have lots of mobs. And with their spaghetti code its almost impossible to implement stacked chunks without completely rewriting the chunkprovider and parts of the worldgen, and, well, dont forget what happened the last time they did this (Beta 1.8... ouch).

I do like this idea a LOT. However, their should be more new items in each of the layers (besides ones close to the surface). Like at least 1 or 2 new and better ores per level. (Maybe per 2 or 3 levels) And maybe, at the lowest level, a new boss that drops an item that will teleport you to any lair you wish?
I completely Support this.
This is pretty cool.
look the Alpha release here:

Looks like a really nice addition to the game!
I'm glad to support this 100%

I love this idea! 100% support. Are there any new pictures you might need?
Also, this is my first post on the forums.
One more thing. As a forum newbie, I have no clue how to add support deeper caves to my signature. Can anybody help?

Cool ideas! Someone ought to make a mod out of this.
I do think some of them are a bit too similar to vanilla caves. Perhaps there could be ice caves, jungle caves, water caves, and more original ores.
Plus I'm pretty sure 'ametrine' should be 'amethyst.'
Sounds amazing, 101/100

Ice caves level would be awesome! Don't slip into the void lol.
Also, it is indeed supposed to be Ametrine. It's an actual gemstone, a type of quartz that's a mix of Amethyst and Citrine, hence the name.
The Bedrock Plains...are amazing looking. The first time I saw them...just...wow.
