Wow. This is the best idea I have ever heard, regarding that one of my favorite pastimes is mining. The only thing I would change is the end layer, as the end is in the sky. But anyways, support! 🐛( My the way, did you use the custom block command to make those blocks? They look great!

At the same time the definition of accessible changes every year. We do not expect computers built in 1995 to be able to run Minecraft in order to call it accessible but we would if it was 2003. Same applies here. As computers get more and more advanced, we shouldn't fear phasing out people who have highly obsolete devices. If someone who bought the game in 2009 on their then 4 year old computer has refused to upgrade, then it sucks for them but it is no longer reasonable for a game in 2017 to bend over backwards to support a computer built at the inception of Bush's 2nd term in the name of accessibility.

Accessibility is good, but as technology marches on so do the requirements of what a reasonable baseline computer is. I say if you support the average computer of 7 years ago, you are going above and beyond in terms of being accessible. If someone on an old clunker wants to play MC, they can play an earlier version.

"Not buy computers from companies that Microsoft has no financial interest in" - Logistics on how it does not benefit Microsoft if people do not buy computers aside, this sounds like a disagreement as you do not want anyone with Minecraft to have their system be unable to play the latest version.

Great idea! if you could just reduce the depth of every level except the Drop and Darkness level.

Nice idea and example screen shots. I guess the maze level could build with bedrock so nobody can pick their way out.

I would suggest making it a new world type, giving players the ability to set what levels they want and how deep they should be. The default numbers should be the ones in your post.

I think if the levels were reordered, that would be great.

Shadows should die in light like Endermen do in water. They're Shadows.

It would be really cool if instead of going through portals, this mod was compatible with cubic chunks. I know that's a hard task though, so it's fine if it's just not possible.

Honestly, having each layer being additional dimension is sorta wacky to me.
I would rather consider nether as "deep underground" layer.

But most importantly, this change would wreck current underground builds, as many shafts and bases go from surface to the bedrock without use of any portals.
Even naturally generated igloos and pyramids would be schreck'd.

However, some of the layer concepts would make interesting subterranean biomes, notably Mutation and Abandoned Caves.
