this is just an "idea" with images to see how it would look like, we don't know how to program a mod too
Also, I think this should be in vanilla.

Minecraft is not medieval-themed!!! As a matter of fact, it doesn't have a set time. And when and WHY did putting reponses in the quote, especially long ones, become a trend in the Suggestions? It's rather inconvenient, mainly since the OP has to gather your quote up manually. Avatar made by Endergirl!
Ok, I used to think that the Deep Dark from Extra Utilities was hardcore. You just took the Deep Dark, crumpled it up, shredded it, burned it, and then blew it up. This is by far the most amazing thing I've seen, EVER! *HEAD EXPLOSION* If you put up a patreon, I will be more than willing to donate. I noticed that there are screenshots, is there somewhere I can download a beta version of the mod, or are they just retextures and worldedits to show what the mod would look like? If there is a place to download a beta I will gladly do a video on it and put in on my channel to try and draw some more attention to this epic mod idea.
Remember that the suggestions section is for suggestions in vanilla Minecraft. It would be cool as a mod (Which after many of the updates I feel is a bit more of a mod thing). But this is a suggestion for vanilla Minecraft. (Which is even better!) I honestly don't know who would be able to make a mod of this, it would be quite complicated...

It's going to quite difficult, making a mod the size of this takes time. It would be a very difficult project, as *Almost* every layer would need terrain generation to be severely altered. Making mobs, with even slight differences could be pretty difficult. There is so much to add, it would be a long project, most mod authors prefer something smaller, and i'm sure most major mod authors don't have enough time, and can barely keep up with updating their own mods. Yes, it would be awesome, but don't expect it any time soon, we haven't even got all of our visuals yet. (Pictures)
Edit: Would it be possible to paste the picture on the post instead of making it an attachment? When I enlarge it right now, the resolution goes down.
Thanks.
I also think that the lava level should be one of the bottom levels.

This is amazing, hyper epic, and exceptionally well done and executed, and I love every aspect of it, BUT... for a mod, not for vanilla minecraft because it just don't fit with it, this suggestion will imply a huge overall to the core mechanics of the game, so... Support for a mod

Sure :3 Would you like me to make any other pictures for your thread? It was kind of fun :3

Support, but i would rather see infinite hight then infinite caves. Plus I dont think there should be such a level as "under the void" the void should be the very bottom.
This is a very interesting and expansive idea i support. I always thought caves needed more and this is close to perfect! Good job bro
BTW i can make some pics aswell!

Now this.....IS AN AWESOME IDEA. If normal MC doesn't get it, sir, you have the start of what could be a popular mod. No matter what...great suggestion!
I'd really like to play this. I hope it either gets added to Vanilla MC, or made as a (Forge) mod.
Player tips (when this gets either added or made into a mod):
Do not attempt to build a base on the Forgotten level. You will be swarmed by Shadows.
Don't waste your time trying to harvest Fragmented bedrock from the Bedrock Plains level except for buckets. Go down to the Final Labyrinth level instead.
This is common advice, but bring two water buckets! Some levels have little to no water and sometimes larger amounts of lava (e.g. Drop, Near Void, Far Void, and Lava).
If you are mining for large amounts of vanilla ores, mine in the Compressed level. If you just need a couple diamonds right then, mine on the Deep World level.
Modder tips:
Make each level a separate dimension
Use void fog to darken the darkness level
Make the regular portals a different color than the forgotten gemstone portal
Make the drops using large, deep, and frequent ravines (like in TheMasterCaver's Triple Height Terrain mod for 1.6.4)
Increase the frequency of small caves, but make sure there are less larger caverns/ravines on the two maze-type levels.
Have the shadows despawn if the sun is up, regardless of the light level where they are
Make sure each dimension has bedrock at the top and bottom. Don't do this!
Base the code for the Lava level off that for the Drop level
Base the cave village code on that used for mineshafts.
Maybe base the code for the iron-bars-and-wood barriers off of that currently used to fill the lowest 10 layers in Vanilla with lava
General Stuff:
Maybe the ores from the Crystal and Maze levels should generate on the Deep world level as well, but rarer than the other ores there.
Maybe have a special "Forgotten Torch" that can banish the Shadows (shadows actually flee from it, not just don't spawn near it), however, a critical resource for it is the Forgotten Gemstone, ensuring you cannot make it without having passed thorough the Forgotten level at least once. Maybe also have it require another ingredient found in the Forgotten level itself.

Sorry, I saw this and got way ahead of myself. I honestly thought this was in the mods suggestion forum section. But this is still the most epic idea on the forums.

At first it was just to the bedrock plains, which was about 30 min of brainstorming and typing. Then, herobrine150400 came along, and together we added even more levels. Lots of other people supported and/or did concept art, and the suggestion has been growing ever since.
Read the special thanks section of the post to find out who in particular helped.

My goodness, those pictures... They look so dramatic. How?! Good job...Good job...
Of course! I really like this picture, and I was hoping for more!
What about the abandoned caves level? I want to see what you can come up with.

Also, kittykattykat, did you see my Deep World mockup screenshot about a page back (http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/suggestions/2311624-deeper-caves-caves-going-more-than-2-kilometers?comment=275)?
