Ha, I support this. It looks pretty cool. I'm surprised this wasn't implemented in vanilla, considering Skeletons and Zombies can spawn in with armor. If you kill one of these armored creepers though, you should receive a rare drop, such as a piece of its armor, or an ingot of some sort.

Personally for use for myself I would find no purpose rather than spawning in a little Creeper friend for my own amusement though I could definitely see how it would come in handy for map-makers. So, why not? Support, I like the look of Creepers with armor anyway.

I disagree with you for one reason: creepers with armor would be totally OP. I already think that it sucks that creepers can survive in the daytime, but it would be insane if there was a creeper with diamond armor right outside your door and you didn't have any weapons that could kill if fast enough before it explodes, leaving half of house gone, letting the rest of the monsters come in and totally shoot your eyes out with arrows, poison you, bite you, and eat your brains(supposing that you survived the blow from the creeper exploding).

You didn't read it clearly, did you...?
I don't want them to spawn with armor. 'Nor did I come up with this suggestion to make them more defensive. Only to be able to wear it via commands. That way adventure map makers could customize them. If armor is a problem, they can lower their health to even it out. They will NOT put it on or naturally spawn with it. Creepers are easy to deal with, anyways.

Whether or not a mob will drop its armor can be set by NBT tags, and therefor by the same command that summoned them with armor. That would be entirely up to the map makers. An adventure map could pretend that it exploded, but that would be the choice of the map maker. You could play the anvil clanging sound with a command...

I'm... not really sure what exactly your asking for... Could you please explain a bit more clearly?
There's really no downside for this, and it's not like they've not made things just for map makers before, so it could feasibly happen.
