I see potential in this, but let the programmers decide if something like this is too taxing on the game.
As for complaints about this becoming a "sculpting game", half of the game is about creation and customization. And not all objects in this game are perfect cubes. Just look at fences, stairs, flowing water, etc. All still orthogonal, but not cubes.
if you make the block smaller the grid needs tobe smaller aswel, at the moment i am fairly sure that the blocks snap to the grid, if you make the block smaller but not the grid you ould end up with a floating block :/ its a good idea and if it was implemented detail would be qaudroupled
