I'd rather another use to the enchantment table ...
As for textures ... How about they can be dyed ?
I would not want there to be an enchantment for this. Sure Axes don't have many enchantments but I don't want a chance of losing Unbreaking or Efficiency for an enchantment that can only be used on a structure that you need to travel super far to find and might not even find one then.
Dying wood is challenging, because there isn't a way to fit all the color data in a single block for most of them so you need a block ID for each Stair, Slab, log, etc.

As many have said before me, remove the beacon and it'll be fine. Try adding a few cave spider spawners in the walls. They were originally intended to be tree spiders, you know.
Or perhaps come up with a unique mob that only spawns in these temple. I'm gonna give this Partial Support, remove the beacon and make the wood like obsidian, in that only diamond tools can break it and you'll have my full support.
Partial support- its initially a very nice idea; however
The stained glass looks out of place. Like massively out of place- its an all natural/wooden structure, the glass does not match that theme in the slightest.
Everwood itself feels very gimmicky and artificial- regular wood would be just a good gameplay wise. Same with the tools [another tool tier is not needed BTW]
If you need a mechanic to prevent players breaking block, then think of some magical/lore reason as to why- rather than 'unbreakable wood'

A mighty machine built within the wake
Of a long dead dream, little demon awake
The citizens sleep, never quite knowing when
The device will reawaken, hungry again.
I'll work on improving the structure when I have the chance. I will change the Everwood mechanics to behave like Obsidian as requested, as that version of Everwood seems quite popular.

And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
