Sand Wyvern
(credit: brdnfrd and myself)
Spawn: desert biome, normally in flat area
Area/Lair: a tower made of sandstone. This is not the restriction area, as he could follow you anywhere. He only appears to fly in from the distance when you reach the top.
Drop: Super Shovel (Credit goes to Azep)
Appearance: a lot like a Rathalos from monster hunter
Entrance: Flies in from the distance.Digs up from the sand directly in front of you...

You can sneak by him if you walk without rhythm.
A sand wyvern. not a sand wurm. A wyvern is a large bird. A wurm is what was in Dune.
These are good but your kinda taking a game where you can do anything and making it into a legend of zelda cross over. I mean we can worry enough about creepers, zombies, spiders, and skeletons but now we have to worry where we build our homes? No thank you sir
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
You better not pout you better not cry you better not kill pigs cause epic piggehs gonna rape you. Im a doctor yet im a cranberry HOW DOES THAT WORK!?!

and again, until you read it correctly.
You're not going to be near a boss without knowing it. It's impossible.
Instead of the amulet of power of whatever it's called for the necromancer, how about a necromancer staff.
It would be crafted with:
[] []
[] []
Where = 2xbones
The staff would allow you to take over 1 zombie or skeleton at a time. The zombie/skeleton would follow you around and help you kill other mobs until it was killed. Each staff would only have 3-4 uses so it isn't something you just use all the time. To make it easier for the minion to get killed the mobs would also have to be aggresive towards your controlled undead. If you don't want to find a skeleton and risk getting attacked by it, to get your minion you could make a pile of bones (put bones in every crafting table space) and resurect a skeleton from the bones.
Added the much needed disclaimer section. Seriously, why do these people not read?

It's a cross between a large bird and a dragon. There's a picture of Rathalos, a wyvern from monster hunter, on the front page, a few posts down.

I don't think mind control is a good mechanic. The pile of bones thing is overcomplicated. I think that mind control should remain, like high powered modern weapons, something that you can get as a mod and only as a mod.
Damage will stay the same for every boss unless it's a boss that takes extra damage from gold. Notch can't take bosses from other games, he'll get sued.
red dragon
hp: large
drop: drake scales
lair: dungeon of ruined castle with chests fulled with unstacked gold ingots, armor and weapons or caves in mountains with similar treasure hoards
attacks: swoop, claw, bite and flame blast
entrance: sleeping on pile of gold gravel (this block is purely decorative)
dieing* animation: a large ring of flames shoot out and engulf any thing flammable including you
spawn rate: castle will randomly spawn on any flat biome (the castle is on a small hill) cave will spawn at random on the side of mountains but still rare
danger level: HIGH
green dragon
hp: large
drop: drake scales
lair: swamps
attacks: swoop, claw, bite and flame blast
entrance: eating the carcass of a large animal
dieing* animation: a large ring of flames shoot out and engulf any thing flammable including you
random: in swamps but still rare
danger level: HIGH

Notch is already planning on adding dragons.
Power pick- My suggestion would be that it would have the durability and mining speed of a wooden pickaxe, but would be able to mine everything that an iron pickaxe can. Once it breaks a block, all of the blocks in the same vein also break and go to the miner. This would make mining giant veins of coal more easy, but it would be a waste of resources to make it for general tunneling.
Notch can't take bosses from other games, he'll get sued.
How do you know? What happens if he does add one from a other game in the future. What are you gonna say about that?
he could add something LIKE Ganon. eat911 is right, though.
Anyway, let's say he's named "Colossus" He's a giant that uses two swords.
Nothing wrong with the idea. It's rather generic, but that's not really a bad thing.
However, 2 things:
1: your entries of "spawn rate", "area needed", and "drop" imply you don't really understand the idea of the suggestion at all.
2: I'm already under A LOT of pressure for being too much like Legend of Zelda. I'm not going to add any bosses that are connected to legend of zelda, but I may add some sort of colossus sword fighter.

I think that dragons will possibly be a random spawn, except for the wyvern, if they are implemented at all.
For the sake of originality, I'm going to say there should only be one dragon boss.
However, I'm uneasy about the wyvern's current drop. Explain how a drake scale works (include a crafting pattern, effect, etc.)
My idea :biggrin.gif: (although it might be hard to impliment)
The King
spawn: anywhere
area/lair: in his very own dimension
info: whilst walking through the world you might come across a small wooden house. you walk in to find that the doors have closed, or have they? in place of the doors is now just a wooden wall. you take a few steps and the house starts burning.everything is on fire. you look at your inventory, trying to find that bucket of water you just had, and find all of your items are gone. you're panicking, it is all over and the flames engulf you. everything is dark. but you open your eyes, you are in a burned out house, identical to the one you just saw be destroyed. you go to the window and look at the greant nothingness of the void. a voice talks, you turn around, and see a man, he is sitting at a small table with a chessboard on it. the man introduces himself: he is "the king". and he invites you to play a game of chess. you sit down and notice something odd: the king on your side is an identicle copy of yourself.
What actually happens now: you have to play a game of chess against "the king" he is a resonably good player and you would have to think smart to overcome him. you would have nothing in your inventory and breaking a chess piece would put it in your hand. you cannot illigaly place the piece but may put it back where it was and select another piece. regular chess rules apply. if your king is destroyed your vision instantly goes place and you respawn. but if you defeat him a first person cinematic starts: he starts shaking, mumbling the word "no" a second later, the house explodes sending debris everywhere you turn around and a wooden block hits you in the face...everything is black you open your eyes and you are lying in the same place you found the house. but its not there anymore *end cinematic* all you see nearby is a small chessboard with a full set of pieces on it. but in the kings place on one side is a small figurine of the so called "king"
The chessboard: you can now break the chessboard "block" and pick it up. you can place it regularly and if you have your fist equipped and right click on it you can play some chess! :biggrin.gif:
I think I have an idea for a boss. (Highly based off of Quake.)
Chthon Spawn: In a "Volcano", he resides in a lava pit and only when you approach the lava pit will he rise. Appearance: Basically, A Minecraft version of this guy.. Abilities: He has the ability too throw fireballs at you, which turn into small "Lavalings", which are mobs that are like slimes, but made of lava, contact with them will result in damage like you're in lava. Reward:The Rune of Lava, which grants you the ability to create the "Lavalings", only that they will be allies with you and they will attack other mobs. Crafting Recipe:

Of course, this would be hard to impliment with copyright issues, but its a start. :tongue.gif:
Ok, I love this whole idea. BUT, Notch has already stated before that he supports the ideas of bosses, and I highly doubt he will do much of anything suggested in this-- and I don't think he should. As long as bosses are incorporated somehow, I'll be happy.

Where are mostly suggesting types of bosses (ones that fly, ones that resemble slimes, ones that live underwater, etc.), and what the reward should be. The idea for slimes came from the forums.
also make ice mage(i know its a bad name think of something better)
spawn:ice biomes
lair:ice temple with fog/clouds for a cool effect
appearance:he rises from an pond surrounded with ice
attacks:iceball-freezes and damages you by 1 heart on hit(like an fireball except when you reflect it you get frozen but not damaged)
fog-breathes out fog if your within 4 blocks near him you freeze if your not it just blurs your vision
ice charge-like normal charge except you get hurt more and freeze(frostbite reference)
special:when you place lava it turns to cobblestone or obsidian (1 out of 10 chance) when you place it in the temple
and torches cant melt ice and water turn into ice when in the temple
apearance:like pyromancer except blue
(hes not hostile until you enter the temple)
oh and you get 10 's

just use it in the place of wood, stone, iron or diamond to create the strongest tools and armor ever
drake scale armor is stronger than diamond and it is only as heavy as leather
