I still like the hunter's bow. Gives people a reason to hunt black sheep and more importantly, squids.
Edit: I just thought of an awesome drop, but no boss to go with it.
Ink arrow: When shot at an enemy it blinds them causing them to chase in random directions for 3 seconds. Skeletons will also shoot around them.
]" title="-<->" />
The flint is an ink sac.
Edit 2: The shots don't do any damage. They are mainly just for running away. They count as an aggresive act for zombie pigmen. Ghasts will shoot fireballs around the location where they last shot one, but at half the speed. The ink arrows work on bosses. Cthulu is immune because he can't see you anyway.
I like the ideas, but you're suggesting weapons, not bosses. Try this thread, instead: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=88513
I mean the fact that he would have to rotate the entire world after the view change.
Plus it's disorienting. I found a video of the game I mentioned.
Edit: Changed the link
It seems easier to just flip the viewpoint. And yes, it would be disorienting, if used too much. Keep in mind that 1, in minecraft, unlike tremulous, you wouldn't be running so much, so It's less confusing,
and 2, it would be disorienting in real life too. Doesn't make it any less cool.
And what do you dislike about the grind ray?
He could break the ceiling and lava/water could flood the room.

Wait. I just realized that lava arrow on pyromancer is a terrible idea for the same reason.
The drops will most likely be destroyed if pyromancer uses it more than once.
Edit: But in minecraft, there is no way to distinguish the top of the cave from the bottom.
I don't think the first problem is a bad thing. If a lava/water flow occurs, it changes the battle. That type of randomness makes the battle interesting, is very minecraft-esque, and is exactly what I'm going for.
Besides, you can put yourself out if you catch on fire in the normal world.
Good point. I'll make it so you don't have to pick the drop up: just kill the boss. That way, there's still a penalty for letting the lava kill the boss, but it's only one item you lose.
unless you're in a cave with no lighting at all, it's rather easy to tell the floor from the ceiling. you can use torches, for example, to figure out which way is down. or a nearby lava/water flow, or the sun (if you're near the entrance), or if you're in a house, it's hard not to tell which way is down.
If you still find it disorienting, well, don't craft the boots. Most people will love it, but same story with minecarts. If you don't like them, don't craft them.
Edit: Actually, if the Aether does get in, the flying pig boss battle could be take place there.
Did you look at the pig picture?
yes. I think that there will definitely be an aether boss, assuming both this and it get added, but I think it might be an aerwhale boss instead. They seem more... powerful, majestic, and generally Aether-ish. I'm working on it.
If it hasn't been said, the centre of the nuke should be lapis lazuli
I can't think of it's uses other than dye.
makes nukes rarer as well
Yes, hopefully it will have another use other than dye. However, Lapis Lazuli and Uranium have very little to do with each other. I'll add it to the board anyway.
Location: Ocean. You will see a small but long cobblestone shaft leading into the dirt.

You will need to make use of the openings to avoid drowning. (You could also use the diving helm).
At the bottom of the shaft, there is a set of double doors leading into an open chamber. (Doors block water so the boss chamber is not flooded). I will edit in the details of the actual boss soon.
Edit: The shaft would have 3 openings along the way.

This seems like a way of leading to the Cthulhu boss' area. Maybe it could use the ink arrow. That makes more sense.
The ink arrow may be a little underpowered, though. Did you suggest it on the thread I mentioned?

Ok. Wait, what about the diving helm?
That would make sense to be crafted from the beginning of the game, like in the oceancraft thread (which I hope also makes it into the game)
On the other hand, the diving helmet is more powerful than the ink arrow, so I don't know.
the only bosses I really support are curse of the creeper and giant slime. they at least keep the spirit of minecraft alive. that and they aren't impossible to program for

I suggest we adopt a xenophobic attitude towards this clearly deadly threat.
We need to quarantine any infected individuals to prevent this plague from gaining a foot-hold.
I'm still not that sure about the creeper guy. How about when he reappears, you hear an ambient sound (like in caves), and he appears 10 blocks behind you. That way, you won't get blown up randomly. And, his blasts don't blow up blocks and stuff. That is the most important part.

No to the ambient sound. The whole point is that you can't tell he's sneaking up on you. I think there's already a safeguard to keep things from spawning too close to you. He'd also still make the hiss, giving you a little time to hit him before he explodes.
Okay, I think that there are a few options for the blast:
1: if it destroys a chest, the contents are dropped, so you can pick them up again.
2: It's replaced with a bite or a throat cut, so you instantly die, regardless of health, but as compensation, it doesn't destroy anything, or
3: suck it up and deal with the challenge. It's supposed to be terrifying.
I think the first option is my favorite: actually, all explosions should do that.
Other than chests, it doesn't really matter what's destroyed. You can build more.

Yes, but what about complex redstone circuits? Or lavaflows encased in glass? I have a few of those and it would not go well if the glass was destroyed. My wooden house would burn to the ground.
Perhaps items that have durability from bosses could have a special part ABOVE the armor or health GUI's.
And displaying a little icon, like shirts for armor and hearts for health.
Thinking: The item icon as the same GUI-idea as health and armor is.
Confusing, but I think most of you know what I mean.
