You should add Lava/Fire Golems.
They spawn on either large mountains or in volcanoes.Volcanoes made of smooth stone. You climb to the top,and theres a staircase leading under the volcano.Obviously lava randomly spurts out of the walls(maybe). At the bottom of the stairs, theres a 3 block high ledge.Right before you fall,a chest randomly appears and steals your stuff, and gives you a iron sword and a full set of leather armor, and a bow and 4 stacks of 64 arrows.Theres pillars around the walls. In the center of the room(which is semi-sphere-ical,btw)there is circle of lava. When you get close,a rumbling sound occurs and the pool of lava erupts. You automatically jump backwards. The lava turns into cobble and a Golem stands in the center. It can shoot lava from its mouth and hands. And it jumps and tries to land on you,and if you move 2 or less seconds after he jumps, you will dodge it.If you touch him you will be set on fire.Pigs are randomly there, and water is on the edge of the room.It has 30 hearts. And he looks like a GIANT black stone figure with cracks that change colors to red to yellow to orange.
Awesome,eh?
EDIT:oh yeah,he drops armor that is heat proof.
I don't like the stealing idea. I actually hate it. If someone can't beat it the first time, they can't come back later with better stuff.
You get it back(EDIT:It stays in the chest so you can it back if you die.It will steal it tho). And it also prevents you from losing diamonds and stuff.Random explosion explodes the chest and shoots the items into the field.

It still goes against the fact that you can't come back later with better stuff if it's too hard.
I love bosses and this idea has my support but I wanna go over every boss you have on the suggestions
Pyromancer: Lava, gawd no. Lava travels pretty far in the nether and him creating lava randomly would be a terrible idea because it'd be a mess of lava, and, if you went back the whole place would already be flooded. I suggest turning lava arrows into fire arrows, his lava shield turn into a fire shield that burns arrows or something and you catch fire if you get too close, lasts a couple seconds and he becomes more mobile during this, heck why not make him leave some fire behind as he walks around, but lava would just cause so many problems. Remember fire stays forever on netherrack so you'd have to actively put out fires (he could maybe transforms several blocks around him to soul sand to slow you down, but not him, and you'd be easy to shoot/catch on fire)
Aeromancer, love the idea, love the castle collapsing, although in the end there'd just be whatever you used to get up there hanging around all alone XD
Earth Monster: Cool, but a crater the size a creeper explosion? That'd end with a hole to the adminium fairly quickly, maybe cause a visible shock-wave to be jumped. Shockwave will shatter gravel blocks in its way, and it travels like 10 blocks in every direction?
Cthulu: great idea except maybe the obsidian gate destroys itself when it dies otherwise it be weird.
Sand Wyvern: Make the tower pure sandstone and his "fireball" not affect stone and that'd be cool, could still affect cobblestone.
Wurm: Makes me think of snake. Like the the sand wyvern it should not be able to dig through stone but can dig through cobble.
Yeti & Giant slime: Both sound sweet
Necromancer: Make it so any sort of light go out during the night but stay there and will relight at dawn (once the lights go out you know he has arrived, spooky!). Only thing is during the day you could go and board up all the houses so you wouldn't have to deal with mobs (this would be a big issue), you would even be able to break them all. SO they should turn into adminium like spawners during the day but after the Necromancer is killed they become regular spawners which can be destroyed anytime and the torches work at night. Like a curse being lifted. (still could board up houses, cant think of a good fix for this)
Dracula (vampire, whatever): Awesome, maybe it darkens when you get close to his tower (eternal night :biggrin.gif:) Until hes dead (wood sword deals extra damage XD)
Curse of the creeper: A little confused, he dies when he explodes? Or he stays alive until YOU kill him?
Don't like the reappearing EVERYWHERE idea, maybe only in the dark so when you've been cursed you have to be really careful, this seems much scarier.
Arachne: Web shot should cause you to be unable to move fast for a bit and slows your attack, other then that I LOVE this one.
As far as the items are, they shouldn't be craftable but maybe the boss drops a blueprint which allows it to crafted from that point on, if you wanted it to be harder, fragments to blueprints.

Anyways I love the idea of bosses :biggrin.gif:
I agree with most of your pointers. The only one I don't agree with is the spawners being left behind. I found a skeleton spawner and I was surprised that everyone said bones were rare. I had set up a drowning trap and was able to generate stacks of bones. The mobspawners should dissapear when he dies. (I have about 5 full stacks of bonemeal).
EDit: And I still don't like the Earth guy's grind ray.
a giant notch face! no i am just joking. i think a cool boss idea would be a sort of mimic. like the mimic could spawn different mobs and will mimic the mob it spawns. the more damage he takes the more mobs he will spawn when he mimics them. if you hit the mob he summond (wich shouldn't be hostile) he charges at you with three times your speed. he does a half a heart of damage because this fight is mostly luck. for instance: a cloud of smoke apears and 2 sheep are there. you will have to choose and then hit. its area will be a garden deep inside of a forest in a forest type of biom. when you kill it he will drop a mask of mimic? which is crafted like this: []
this can be equipted as a helm. you can right click a mob and that race will think that you are one of it. it will then become unhostile and you can live around it. if you hit the(hositle) mob it will realize you are not one of them and attack. once you use the mask on something it can't be switched and after a day the mask bar will go down or something to make it WEAR down.

THANK YOU! Someone finally posts valid opinions in convenient format for ALL the bosses at once. You have my thanks.
Here are responses you all of your responses:
Pyromancer: I think that he's probably going to be the hardest, seeing as he's the only one in the nether. He would mostly only use fireball, which only destroys things and lights them on fire. He would only use lava arrow on occasion (maybe every 40 seconds or so), and the lava shield almost never. I do agree that this is still over powered, but if (hopefully when) notch implements a way of putting out your self when you're on fire in the nether, he'll just be very hard, but still fair.
Aeromancer: True, I had forgotten about that. maybe the castle is in a storm, like a small tornado, that pushes you up to the castle, and then it disappears when the castle crumbles. I'll add this to the post.
Earth Monster: I kind of like the way it keeps changing the shape of the arena, making holes and piles to hide in/behind. I don't think leading to the adminium would really be that bad. It seems easier to program and play against than a shockwave. Maybe that could be an additional attack, though. Also, keep in mind, a creeper explosion in stone is not really that big.
Cthulhu: the whole temple destroys itself after he's defeated, just like the aeromancer's.
Wyvern: the tower is already pure sandstone ( I think. It's supposed to be.) Why shouldn't it affect stone?
Wurm: Well, if it can't dig through stone, it can only go a couple blocks deep.
Necromancer: This guy is posing a lot of problems. I think he'll be around all the time, and have the additional ability to keep undead in his town from burning.
Dracula: I love the eternal night idea, but in multiplayer, it would have to have a way of having different times of day for different players. Don't know if this is possible. I have mixed feelings about the wooden sword. I get the reference, but it seems like a shining diamond blade would hurt vampires more than mundane wood. (if we're getting in to the actual dracula myth, the stake was from the original cross).
Curse of the Creeper: okay, you're not the first person confused. I need to clarify this on the post. he does not die when he explodes, or you hit him, he just disappears. the explosion would not damage him, but the hit would. He respawns at a random point with the same amount of health as when he disappeared, so if you always hit him before he explodes, he will die eventually. The reappearing anywhere idea is what makes it scariest. You could be crafting something in your well lit base, when ssssssss....
I'm also thinking this will either not explode, just hit you, so your chests will be okay, or the explosion will not damage any man-made materials. Also, you could turn the difficulty to peaceful to "chicken-out", causing it to stop haunting you.
Arachne: I considered that, but since the floor is slowsand, that seems like overkill.
Items: you didn't read correctly. You can only craft the items after you kill the boss and take the item. Before that, they are unattainable.

coding walk on walls would be hard. plus, I have played games where you can do that, Imagine fooling around with that, only to exit a cave and find you're falling into the sky.
Well, Notch already lets spiders walk on walls, so it shouldn't be too hard to code it for players, too. Especially since it's just a variation on ladder climbing. Ceilings would just be a variation on that.
As for tripping into the sky, Notch should add a sensor, which detects that if there are no blocks within 1 block from you, you switch to normal gravity.

I mean the fact that he would have to rotate the entire world after the view change.
Plus it's disorienting. I found a video of the game I mentioned.

Edit: Changed the link
It seems easier to just flip the viewpoint. And yes, it would be disorienting, if used too much. Keep in mind that 1, in minecraft, unlike tremulous, you wouldn't be running so much, so It's less confusing,
and 2, it would be disorienting in real life too. Doesn't make it any less cool.

And what do you dislike about the grind ray?
I remember tremoulus! it was very confusing being an alien. Telekrus knows from UT3 andUT2004 that things that make you walk on walls are pretty cool. However, the camera coding would not be that hard to change, but gravity might.
Look at this idea from OceanCraft! Scale it up a bit, and you have a really cool aquatic boss.
GHOST PIRATES! Note this is more of a fun idea, than an ABSOLUTE addition. I still think it's cool though.
BombJoe wrote:Ghost Pirates would be awesome. They'd spawn at night on dark, wide oceans and would just sail around the seas on big, blue-ish transparent, glowing ships and don't bother if you where close to them. If you sailed into the ship you'd be transported into it, like with The Nether. The inside would be like a big dungeon with chests all over the place and Ghost Pirate Mob Spawners. It would be like the ghost ship in LoZ: Wind Waker, with the weird music when it's near and stuff, see?
The Ghost Pirate mobs would have 2 modes, cutlass and pistol.
With the cutlass they'd fly around and swoop down on you ones when they see you. After they swoop down they'd land and attacking you on ground, which would allow Mojang to add awesome sword duels with epic fight music!
With the pistol they'd also fly around but shoot on you, and after shooting a shot they'd have to reload for 5 seconds and would slowly fall to the ground while doing this, which would give you a chance to hit them with your sword.
There could also be a boss mob inside, the Captain.
The Captain would shoot a shot at you when he sees you but would throw a bottle of rum at you that'd put a block on fire. If you got to close he'd bring out his cutlass and fight you in close combat. If he had less than 4 hearts he'd start yelling after his crew who'd come to help him (maybe 1-3 ones each time).

He could break the ceiling and lava/water could flood the room.

Wait. I just realized that lava arrow on pyromancer is a terrible idea for the same reason.
The drops will most likely be destroyed if pyromancer uses it more than once.
Edit: But in minecraft, there is no way to distinguish the top of the cave from the bottom.
I still like the hunter's bow. Gives people a reason to hunt black sheep and more importantly, squids.
Edit: I just thought of an awesome drop, but no boss to go with it.
Ink arrow: When shot at an enemy it blinds them causing them to chase in random directions for 3 seconds. Skeletons will also shoot around them.
]" title="-<->" />
The flint is an ink sac.
Edit 2: The shots don't do any damage. They are mainly just for running away. They count as an aggresive act for zombie pigmen. Ghasts will shoot fireballs around the location where they last shot one, but at half the speed. The ink arrows work on bosses. Cthulu is immune because he can't see you anyway.
You get it back(EDIT:It stays in the chest so you can it back if you die.It will steal it tho). And it also prevents you from losing diamonds and stuff.Random explosion explodes the chest and shoots the items into the field.
1. Satan. A large demon.
2. Land turtle. A huge turtle that mimics an island.
3. Gods. Up on floating islands, they come in different varieties.
Some ideas I thought of, hope i didn't copy anyone's.
It still goes against the fact that you can't come back later with better stuff if it's too hard.

Earth Monster: Cool, but a crater the size a creeper explosion? That'd end with a hole to the adminium fairly quickly, maybe cause a visible shock-wave to be jumped. Shockwave will shatter gravel blocks in its way, and it travels like 10 blocks in every direction?

Sand Wyvern: Make the tower pure sandstone and his "fireball" not affect stone and that'd be cool, could still affect cobblestone.
Wurm: Makes me think of snake. Like the the sand wyvern it should not be able to dig through stone but can dig through cobble.

Curse of the creeper: A little confused, he dies when he explodes? Or he stays alive until YOU kill him?
Don't like the reappearing EVERYWHERE idea, maybe only in the dark so when you've been cursed you have to be really careful, this seems much scarier.

You have successfully confused me. Do you not like the wurm because it loosely resembles a lanmola in AI, or is there something else? please clarify.
And I don't see why a population of Zelda fans should make notch ignore anything that looks like it has anything to do with LoZ.
Finally, the wurm really has nothing to do with Zelda. Legend of Zelda isn't the only fantasy franchise to use wurms.

Edit: I just thought of an awesome drop, but no boss to go with it.
Ink arrow: When shot at an enemy it blinds them causing them to chase in random directions for 3 seconds. Skeletons will also shoot around them.
