I'm pretty sure this mob has not been suggested.
Sea Serpent
Spawns:At snowy biomes, under the ice. When player steps on ice, random blocks of ice start to dissapear and a tiny head pops through. Then suddenly the real sea serpent comes out and tries to kill the player for trespassing.
Rarity:One sea serpent in one snow biome(In other words, damn rare)
Special Ability:Rejuvenate: People should saw this coming,Heal's their HP about 15% of their current health.
Powers:(According to HP Level)
(Full HP)Head Strike-The sea serpent tries to bash the player. If successful,The player loses 3 and a half hearts
(Quarter HP lost)Tail Strike-Tries to strike the player with it's tail at the back,if successful,30% chance that you are dead.
(Half HP)Uses Special Ability,if attacked,Special Ability stops working.
(Quarter HP)Throws the baby to a safe, snowy place without hurting it.Then continues to fight the person.
(Near Death)Tries to surround the player with it's body to crumple his body.If player strikes at the right time,Sea Serpent dies.
Reward:The baby as your companion who will fight and survive for you and a essence that allows you to breath underwater.
So far,I do not have pictures of a sea serpent.I am sorry if not enough detail.PM me or quote it down so I can explain it to the tiniest detail

Interesting idea, but how do you craft the essence?
The essence is dropped by the Sea Serpent. That wasn't really hard to think of,was it?
EDIT:That or make your sea serpent fight at least 10 mobs without your help. You can feed it food to help get it more HP for it to survive.
i like the idea but what if you dont want to stumble uppon on (i did read it :tongue.gif:) it would make it better if it was set in options such as if you have it on normal or above there are bosses. :smile.gif:

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it
If you don't want to "stumble" upon it,you could just avoid some places. The monster I suggested is very rare.Obviously,if it get's implemented onto Minecraft, there is a very low chance that you will "stumble" upon my monster.
I really like the idea of having bosses in Minecraft, every time i hear the sound in cave that sounds like some large creature being tortured makes me think of a boss from Zelda or something. (Maybe that could be a clue of the direction to dig in?)
Anyways, I hope Notch implements this in games, nice work with the thread.

Curse of the creeper, I don't think switching to peaceful should erase it, if you were unfortunate enough to go into the temple, you need to suffer the consequences.

you do know minecraft is a game right? games are meant too be fun, and i think most people would NOT find curse of the creeper fun unless their into damn hard next to impossible challenges. i think you should be able too turn it off, for instance, what if you thought you liked the idea of a big challenge and then after you started it you couldn't bare to play the game anymore.

I shall cut down all who appose me! I am Mr. Face Face the the mighty samurai of minecraft!
Biome: Nether
Spawn: Spawns over lava always, without any sort of lair. Alternatively, a nest made out of eggs.
Drop: Baby Ghast, can be trained into a friendly ghast minion
Appearance: Giant, rectangular ghast with ghast heads sticking out, dripping pink tears.
Entrance: It's already there.
Special: Flies slowly, actually tries to avoid you rather than chase you
Attacks: Shoots a heavy stream of fireballs at you
I have two suggestions for Mobs. Both of them are boss mobs, or mobs that occur very rarely.
The first boss mob is a deamon boss mob. This mob would be very tough to kill, and dwell near the bottom of the map or in the nether. It would be twice the size of a normal person, and breath lava/fire. It would shoot 2/3 the distance of an arrow shot by a skeleton. Also, you would catch on fire upon a successful hit. It should also be able to destroy block or catch them on fire with a hit. Also, it would require a very large cavern/space because of its large size. I also believe that it should be immune to the effects of lava. The odds of finding this creature would be 1/4 the odds of finding a diamond. It should have very good rewards for killing it, like diamonds, or deamon horns that can be used as a hat/helmet. The deamon horns would give you one extra armor than a diamond helmet. The deamon would have red skin and horns. It would pretty much look like a devil from blockhead.
The second boss mob could be a dragon. It would dwell in the nether or be extremely rare in the normal world. The odds of finding a dragon would be 1/5 the odds of finding a pumpkin or diamond. The dragon would be flying and shoot fireballs at you. Also, the fireballs would have a small explosion that would be half the size of a creeper. The balls would be slow moving. 1/3 to 1/2 the speed of an arrow. Slow enough to be dodged but fast enough to be dangerous. The dragon would move 1.5 times your fastest speed. Its attack speed would be about 2-6 seconds. It should be low flying, about 20/30 squares up. It could have a landing ability so that you can attack it with swords. The dragon would not die at night. Also, the dragon would not attack you, unless you attack it, that way it wont blow up your castle when your just hanging out. The dragon would be about 2 to 3 times the size of a cow with wings. It would have very good rewards like diamonds.
If you run both of these creature would pursue you for a while, and then give up. That way your not destined to die if you run into one of these creatures. I also believe that the dragon should be mobile, so that you have to hunt it rather than it hunt you. The deamon/devil should also be mobile so that you don't find it and then just reurn the next trip with a bunch of tnt and blow it to smithereans. However I don't know how you could accomplish this if it has to dwell in a large cavern, unless the next update creates caverns large enough for the deamon to patroll and protect valuables. I do not know how much HP these should have. But they should definately have a lot of HP since they are bosses. I am open to suggestions.
It seems sort of pointless to have to go through all that to get an item that you could make normally. Or can you only craft it after you beat the boss?
Also, maybe in addition to the special item, they also drop a music disk.

YOU CAN'T CRAFT THE ITEM UNTIL YOU BEAT THE BOSS! It says so in the main post :sleep.gif: Maybe you should read more carefully. Also, yes they should all drop a music disc. WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MUSIC O:

Not all, maybe just a few.
Edit: Please add this to the main post:
The suggested boss drops should be fun, quirky items that are not necessary for important things. Based on how rare the bosses are going to be, the items they drop should not be an important drop, but they should still add something to the game.
Example:
What not to suggest: Saddles that let you control pigs and horses (This is a big thing, it's like making minecarts only craftable if you find a super-rare boss), things required for going to future dimensions such as the Aether, overpowered recipes such as a shovel that guarantees flint from gravel, is made from smooth stone, and has the durability of an iron tool.
What to suggest: Suggested items should be things that you can easily play without. These are things like additional food items, new blocks that are purely for looks, or a tool with a cool effect but the recipe makes it balanced. e.g. a shovel that turns sand into glass, but requires smooth stone to make and has half of the durability and speed of a wooden shovel.
not sure if this has already been posted but here it goes.
maybe bosses in general should have their own button on the options, so if u like fighting bosses you could have it on "all" or maybe you want "none" or any number of the total bosses of this idea though, sounds great
Sorry I haven't been replying lately. I've been busy in the last couple days. I will reply to a lot of posts very soon.
(Oh, and if you haven't seen them already, I'm running forum threads on a couple more ideas:)

Yes, but all other boss items are craftable. This one isn't. The drop doesn't really fit with the others unless you can somehow craft it!
