I hate people who don't get their armor suggestions right.
You get 8% damage reduction for every point of armor you have.
A full new set of leather armor gives 80% reduction.
A full new set of diamond armor gives 80% reduction.
At 10% durability both suits give an 8% reduction.
What you're suggesting is an armor that gives 100% reduction at max durability and 100% at 10% durability. Does not fit in.
Chainmail absorbs all damage.

I am meowing at my lung’s fullest. I would even argue that the echo that reverberates back to me is the voice of someone I know…
there should be recipe like making an armor imune to fire and thunder with an infinidium core in the middle of a diamond armor recipe. as some know, diamond is well conductive material. the advantage of it is that it give a surrounding energy shield that boost your attack and speed as a creeper would do when lightened. also, maling a diamond tool with a infinidium core in middle would make them almost infinite and when you hit a mob with a diamond thundersword, it could lighten it up (not great use against creeper) and after 3 sec, the mob die.
i think that the armor should have a durability between iron and diamond, and reduce damage by 50%; but it would make you slower (if you just want to be a near immobile tank in battle, Infinium armor is the way to go!)
beyond that, i like this idea, except for the cores being able to control animals, let's just make it an hourglass instead
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
On the bedrock, noobin' it up
I think this is a good idea for the most part. I fail to see how this will make mobs follow you. Also, in order to live up to the name infinium, it must be infinite, without being overpowered.
The core is a good idea, but just a bit overpowered as-is. When I picture a core encased in a glass tube, I picture a liquid inside, not a solid ore.
What I suggest is this: Core
Craft the core as you would, but what you get is a depleted core, with solid infinium inside. you must put the core in a furnace, requiring at least 16 coal to melt the ore inside it and "charge" the core.
The core could be used indefinitely as a redstone torch would, powering redstone out to 30 blocks at full charge, or down to 15 blocks by the time it's almost ready to run out. Using it in this way does not reduce the charge on the core.
It could be used to power a cart, reducing its charge (as seen by a durability bar on the item) and could be removed to save it for later use.
Once a core loses all its durability, it can be "charged" in a furnace again, melting the infinuim ore inside back to a liquid.
All armor and tools crafted with infinium shoude function as diamond tools with the following exceptions:
-When armor breaks, it turns into raw ingots that drop to the ground, 1 short of enough for you to craft the armor again. If you collect them, you can use them again.
-When tools/swords break it turns into enough raw ingots to craft the item again, with a 50% chance to short you by 1.
The infinium itself potentially lasts forever, but due to the wear and tear on the items, you dont get 100% back and must supplement fresh ingots into the mix to maintain your gear.
Really nice idea, I like it, well balanced, i still don't know about the core, sounds interesting but I'm sure something more medieval can be created, maybe a infinium hourglass? Just saying to keep the atmosphere of the game.
medieval is NOT the theme of minecraft. this is a common (and somewhat annoying) misconception. are minecarts from medieval times? how about electric circuitry? nether portals? minecraft is about INNOVATION. starting with nothing and building up to whatever you can imagine. ive seen too many good ideas shot down because they didnt fit the "theme" man one time i saw this guy shoot down a cool idea for a mount-type mob that looked kinda like an ostritch. he said "pattern: chicken,cows,sheep,pigs....moa? pattern broken." to which i say: "pattern: skeletons, zombies, spiders (kinda),jockeys....creepers? (endermen?) pattern broken, yet still awesome,so if your going to support themes, support taking the none theme things already in the game out.good luck.
ahem.anyway.this looks interesting.i feel like a block of the stuff should be damn near indestructible lol.i like the idea of the blocks being affected by gravity, but i dont see much use for it when creeper explosions can be sheilded by iron blocks. if it cant break diamond/obsidian blocks why do you need anything rougher? i like the armor ideas and whatnot, and the redstone possibities have potential,i just feel like you would need a mob more devastating than the creeper to really appriciate it. (which is terrifying haha)
the core's time limited? i could just attatch my circut to a lever and turn in on and it will be infinitely powered forever.
I love this idea. It seems very well balanced and I love the color
