It would be cool if thirst was actually added in hard mode, because it would be stupid if you have easy, or peaceful and have to go drink every now and than. It would be nice if it was toggleable. There was also a mod for this, but I didn't really like it, since you had to drink destilled water. Your thoughts?

Exactly, I feel like there's nothing more to be said. It's a simple idea that everyone understands. Still, though, he's right. So many people have tried and failed that I think the search option would've been a good thing for you to use before making this. Not trying to hate, just, it's a redundant thread. By this point, Mojang has seen and rejected this probably 1000 times. I'd love to see it, but apparently they wouldn't. Sorry, and, good luck with the thread.
I think this is a great idea since there isn't to much of a difference between hard mode and normal mode. this would make it more challenging. Support.

No support. It's already bad enough with three. Now, while I think it's neat, the LAST thing we need is yet another bar. Enviromine adds in four more bars: air, water, temperature, and hypothermia. Try playing with that, and your head will spin.

How fast does it go down? How much does a bucket of water restore? What are all the things that can restore it? Why do we need it?

1. Water is an infinite resource in Minecraft and easily obtainable (unlike real-world, where clean water is a scarce resource). Some thirst mod tries to have several type of "water" (differ based on biome), but that runs into another issue.
2. Depending on how it's implemented. Either thirst will just be an annoyance with no need to pay it much attention. Or it restrict player to only live near water supplies.
3. It's redundant. Resource limitation and the need to "setup resupply base" is already there with Food. Thirst don't add anything additional to the game other than another bar to watch out for.
4. Interface clutter. We already have many interface elements. Health, Exp, Armor, Food, and Air (when diving). Adding one more that doesn't do much is not exactly useful.

After reading this point, and other points on the Thread, I think I'm going to have to agree with you. You can simply pretend by drinking water every so often, and it would be exactly the same as it is right now. No difference in gameplay or challenge. We don't need this.
