While I was sick, I thought of all the threads about mob subspecies, and I improved on them, and got this thread.
Mob aesthetical/benifical changes, basically giving each and every mob an identity.
Aesthetical Changes:
Well, I thought of different combinations of changes, from the head, both arms and legs and the body.
Zombie Aesthetic Alterations:
Head:
The head could have many different changes, esspecially for the zombie.
Skull:
The zombie could look like some of it's skin has been scalped, and showing as skull, and it'd look like a zombie pigman head, but zombie textured. This has a 30% chance of occurring.
Worm:
Maybe the zombie could also have a silverfish in its head, flailing around till you kill it's host, spawning a silverfish 40% of the time. Has a 40% chance of occurring, can also occur with skull.
Headless:
Sometimes a zombie could spawn headless. 20% chance of occurring.
Silverfish Head:
Sometimes the head could be replaced by a silverfish. Has a 60% chance of spawning a silverfish apon death. Has a 10% chance of occurring.
Arm:
Yes, both arms are going to be edited individually.
Skeleton arm:
This only affects the right arm. Sometimes, a zombie could spawn with a skeleton arm. Has a 10% chance to drop a bone. Has a 50% chance of occurring.
Silverfish arm:
This can effect both arms, but individually, so I could have a skeleton armed zombie, and it's left arm would be replaced with a Silverfish. Will have its arm replaced with a silverfish. Has a 25% chance to spawn a silverfish for each arm, adding up to 50% chance. Has a 20% chance for each arm, adding to a 40% chance of occuring.
Normal arm:
It could spawn with a normal arm, but only for the left arm. 10% chance of occurring.
Arm Sword:
Sometimes a zombie will spawn holding its left arm with it's right arm.
Body:
This means the torso.
Ribcage:
Sometimes, a zombie could spawn with a spine going to the upper body. Only affects the lower half. Has a 20% chance of occurring.
Arrows:
A zombie could spawn with a couple of arrows in it's body. Has a 20% chance of occurring, can occur with ribcage.
Torn Shirt:
A zombie could spawn with a torn shirt. Can occur with Arrows. Has a 60% chance of occurring.
Legs:
Now this'll be interesting.
Stone Sword:
Sometimes, a zombie could spawn with a stone sword in it's left leg. Has a 50% chance of occurring.
Shorter Legs:
A zombie could spawn with legs that are 50% shorter than normal legs. Has a 25% chance of occurring.
Skeleton Leg:
Similar to the skeleton arm, it could have a skeleton leg, which only affects the right leg. Has a 20% chance of occurring.
Crawler:
Simply a zombie without legs, has a 5% chance of occurring.
Lets see, how 'bout
Zombie Combat Alterations:
Well, let's see, zombies are push overs.
A zombie can spawn with a buff to its health. It could have either 20 health(50% chance) 25(25% chance) or 30 health(25% chance)
They could also get a damage buff. Normal Damage(50% chance) or 20% buffed damage (50% chance).
We also have skeletons.
Skeleton Aesthetical Alterations:
Head:
Cracked:
It could sometimes spawn with a cracked head. Has a 30% chance of occurring.
Arrow:
Skeletons could spawn with an arrow in they're head. Has a 50% chance of occurring. Can occur with cracked.
Headless:
A skeleton could spawn without a head. Has a 20% chance of occurring.
Arms:
Arrow:
Affects right arm. A skeleton could spawn with an arrow in its arm. Has a 40% chance of occurring.
Body:
Silverfish:
Sometimes, a skeleton could have a silverfish stuck in its ribcage. Has a 40% chance of occurring.
Stome Sword:
Sometimes, a skeleton could spawn with a stone sword impaled into its ribcage. Can occur with silverfish. Has a 40% chance of occurring.
No Ribs:
A skeleton could spawn without a ribcage. Has a 20% chance of occurring.
Legs:
Stalk:
A skeleton could spawn with its legs stacked up on top of each other, giving the skeleton full aerial cover while sacrificing mobility. Has a 20% chance of occurring.
Shorter Legs:
A skeleton could spawn with legs 50% shorter. Has an 80% chance of occurring.
And a skeleton's combat.
Skeleton Combat Alterations:
A skeleton is also a bit of a pushover, but not as much.
A skelly could have extra base defence, inceasing by 2.
0 Def:50%
2 Def:30%
4 Def:20%
They could also get a speed buff. (100 is average speed.)
100:(50% chance)
120:(40% chance)
150:(10% chance)
I couldn't think of any changes for creepers, :(.
But I do for spiders!
Spider Aesthetical Alterations:
Head:
Arrow:
Same as skeleton, spawns with an arrow in its head. Has a 40% chance of occurring.
Eyes:
Colored Eyes:
A spider could spawn with different colored eyes.
Red: 20%
Green:20%
Purple:20%
Blue:20%
Yellow:20%
Left eye missing:
The left most eye is missing, can occur with colored eyes. Has a 40% chance of occurring.
Right eye missing:
The right most eye is missing. Has a 40% chance of occurring.
Abdomen:
Arrow:
A spider with an arrow in it's abdomen. Has a 30% chance of occurring.
Cave spider:
Can spawn with a cave spider on it's back, ready to deploy. Has a 10% chance of occurring. Can occur with arrow.
And for combat alterations, I have something special.
Spider Combat Alterations:
Spiders could have different sizes.
Small: A block in width. Is 50% faster than a medium spider. Cannot have the Cave spider alteration or a spider jockey. 10 health.
Medium: A Normal spider. Can spawn with either Cave Spider or Spider Jockey, but not both. 16 health.
Large: 3x3 wide spider. Is 50% slower than a normal spider, but has 24 health. Can have both a spider jockey and cave spider
Enderman Aesthetic Alterations:
Whole Body:
Albino:
An enderman could rarely spawn with its skin to be inverted. Has a 20% chance to happen.
Arrow:
The Enderman could have arrows all over its body. Has a 60% chance to happen. Can occur with Albino.
Endermite:
Basically the samething as Silverfish. The enderman could spawn with 2 endermites in its body. Has a 20% chance to occur. Can occur with Albino.
Eyes:
Colored Eyes:
Red:33%
Purple:33%
Green:33%
White:1%
Enderman Combat Alterations:
I feel like the enderman should get speed and health buffs:
Speed:
100:50%
140:30%
180:20%
Health:
40:40%
45:30%
50:30%
I lied, there was creeper changes!
Creeper Aesthetic Alterations:
Head:
TnT:
Sometimes, a creeper could spawn with a bit of seeable TnT. Similar to the skull thing, but with TNT instead of a skull. Has a 35% chance to occur.
Worm:
A silverfish will be flailing about the creepers skull, with it's tail sticking out. Can occur with Arrow and TNT. Has a 35% chance of occurring. Has a 40% chance to spawn a silverfish apon death. None if it exploded.
Arrow:
I think you know already. 😝 Has a 40% chance of occurring. Can occur with TnT and Worm.
Body:
Stone Sword:
A creeper could spawn with impaled with a stone sword. Has a 30% chance of occurring.
Whole Mob:
Color Variations:
Tan: 40%
Green: 40%
Black: 20%
And there are also slime changes! Can't forget the slimes!
Slime Aesthetic Changes:
Outer layer:
The outer layer could have different colors,like so;
Missing Chunk:
Sometimes, a slime could spawn with a bit of its outer layer gone. Has a 30% chance of occurring.
Stone Sword:
Sometimes, a medium slime or larger could hav a stone sword in its body. Has a 70% chance of occurring.
Baby Zombie:
Sometimes a slime will spawn with a baby zombie inside of its body.
Slime Combat Alterations:
Unlike most mobs, the slime will deal out negative effects to you!
What I mean is, each time it hits you, it gives a negative effect. But it depends in the type of slime it is.
Normal slime: Has a 50% chance to occur.
Weakness I slime: Apon hitting you, it gives you Weakness I. Has a 25% chance to spawn.
Slowness I slime: Apon hitting you, it gives you slowness I. Has a 25% chance to spawn.
I actually thought of this off the top of my head. If you have any ideas, let me know!
This could be an option, like difficulty, in the pause menu, to decide wether or not to spawn these variations. It can only be turned on and off in the main menu, not in-game.
So yeah, TL:DR, make every mob you fight, different than the last one.
NOTE: The 100% adds up to 50%, the other 50% is for a normal mob. So 50% for an altered mob, and 50% for your average joe.

You know who can tell me something I already know? Me. All the time. I'm really good at telling me stuff I already know. I don't need help in that department. I don't know about others, but I can't imagine I'm alone here.
This is a nice, mostly aesthetic suggestion. I like just about all of the points about the mobs. For Creepers, they might spawn with different colours maybe? With the spiders combat alteration I don't really understand what you mean by "Can spawn with a cave spider" so please provide clarity.
I like this suggestion, adds quite a few details and I like aesthetic things. Support!
Thank you! For the cave spider thing, I meant the fact that a spider could spawn with a cave spider on it's back. In thee Spider Aesthetical Alterations, at the very bottom.

Mob encounters would definetly be more interesting.
About the Creepers, what about the chance to have different colors of Creepers, varying from green to brown? And maybe, for Endermen, to have them spawn with different colors of eyes and rarely a very tall or short Enderman?
Thanks! I'm thinking about different colors of creepers.
Cool idea, but these features should be options in the graphics section of the pause menu.
Oh yeah, maybe a world option, like difficulty.

In the options, i would make a category " Spawn variations." It would allow you to control the variations. Like if i wanted normal zombies, and skeleton arm normal zombies, i could do that in options.

Nice idea, but some of those aesthetic changes aren't totally aesthetic like the Silverfish thing but I do like rndom mobs like in resource packs.
