The Nyx, would be land of eternal night, with a skybox that is pitch black.
Entering the Nyx:
The Nyx would be enterable by creating a cornerless portal out of Soul Sand, with Glowstone corners. When entering the Nyx for the first time, you have a 25% chance of being deposited in the Nyx without a portal back to the overworld.
The Nyx would be a barren wasteland with only the occasional structure, and would be very very flat, except for the occasional one block change in elevation. There is the occasional 10-30 deep chasm aboveground, and light would travel half as far in the Nyx then in the regular world.
Dungeons in the Nyx are similar to regular dungeons, however, instead of a mob spawner, there is a 40% chance of specter. Also, instead of cobble and mossy cobble, the dungeons are made of ChillStone
Loot: The chests usually contain Shadow Glass(80%), Gold(70%), and/or Soul Shards(50%).

Blocks: Shadow Sand:
This block makes up most of the Nyx, much like Netherrack. It can be mined by hand at the same speed as dirt. Uses: when Smelted, it will produce Shadow Glass. Also, when crafted in a 3x3 square, it creates Shadestone.
Grave Slush is a solid block and doesn’t flow. It appears randomly in 3-5 block deep pools in the Nyx. It’s about as rare as above-ground coal.
Whilst in Grave Slush you fall faster then in water, but slower then in air, and your movement speed is decreased to 1/4th. You also lose 2 bubbles per second you’re in Grave Slush, making it very easy to drown.
Uses: Mob traps/ player traps
Sucks in all heat up to 5 blocks away; any torches, fire, lava ect. Will not give off heat, but will still give of light, allowing you to have frozen water and light at the same time. Chillstone appears in small 3-7 block high 1x1 pillers randomly around the Nyx. Pillars appear in groups, often near Grave Slush. It can be found underground with a rarity of Iron ore.
Stone that levitates anything in a 5 block radius. Appears above chasms aboveground, with gravel floating next to it; also appears in cave systems below-ground. Gravitational field is disabled when Gravium is disabled when exposed to live Redstone.
A mob designed to scare you, found only in Nyx Dungeons. When a specter latches on to you, it will follow you even into the regular world. Whilst possessed, you would get a glimpse of the specter standing outside your window, or in a dark corner in a cave somewhere, or on top of a hill, ect. The specter would disappear if 50% of it was ever in your screen at one time.
A specter could only be killed by creating sealed room with a gold block in the middle. When a specter goes within ten blocks of a gold block or 5 blocks of gold ore, it will go insane, screech, and then charge at you, dealing 2.5 hearts of damage per hit. A specter has ten health.

An aggressive mob found fairly commonly around the Nyx, it appears to be the tattered remains of what was once a human, walking all fours.
Growlers Cannot climb ladders
Growlers drown extremely quickly
It runs at twice your speed, and makes only strange mumbling noises. It attacks by swiping at you with it hands, dealing 1.5 damage per hit. It has 8 health.

The Nyth is fairly uncommon around the Nyx, and appears to be a slightly transparent human with pure white eyes.
a Nyth will only attacked if it is attacked first. The Nyxian has 14 hearts.
It does 3 hearts of damage a hit. And is Found rarely in groups.
A Nyth can only be damaged by a soul sword,or a golden sword.

Taint[unholy](thegreatninjaman):
Taints are rare, and are also hostile.
Taints ones would look like black apparitions that are around 2-5 blocks tall and 1-2 blocks wide, they hover above the ground but do not fly more then 5 blocks up.
They have 15 hearts, and attack by shooting balls of icy darkness, if it hits you you will be slowed.
5% chance to incase you in ice for 2 seconds. 0-3 soul shards are dropped on death.
Gashadokuro[unholy](Dark Auk):
-A giant human skeleton from Japanese folklore, said to be created by gathering remains of those who have died of starvation.
-They are 10 blocks tall
-Very rare spawn.
-50% player speed.
-Once one spawns the player(s) will hear a faint ringing sound. This sound lasts until it either despawns or gets killed.
-30 hearts.
-Instead of a normal attack, it would bend down and pick up a player (player must be within grabbing range; several blocks) and pull the player up to their head. They would then bite the player causing 8 hearts of base damage and then drop them, causing bonus fall damage.
-Drops 13-20 Bones and/or 5-15 Sturdy Bones upon death.
-Probably best to run while you can. But if you really want to kill it, do it in SMP and hope the lag doesn't get you first.
A larger crystal that appears to have a soul in it.

A sword that deals 6 hearts of damage to unholy creatures, and 1.5 hearts of damage to everything else; the Soul Sword has a durability of 750.

The first enemy you kill would give the sword a special ability for a certain amount of hits. Number of hits left would be displayed as a yellow bar below the duribility bar.
Zombie(unholy): increase regular damage to 3.5 hearts for 20 hits
Spider: Bounces enemys back farther and increases damage to 3 hearts for 25 hits
Creeper: increase damage to 3 hearts and add a three block AoE effect for 20 hits
Skeleton(unholy): Increases range to two blocks and increases damage to 3 hearts for 20 hits
Zombie pigman: 10% chance to set enemy on fire and increases base damage to 3 damage for 10 hits.
Ghast(unholy): Increase damage to 5 hearts for 10 hits.

Your going to need more mobs. You could have a certain type of mob called morphus that lives in small holes in the ground. he is the same color as his surroundings and will not harm the player unless he gets too close. If the player does, the morphus would let out high pitched screech and leap at the player headcrab style, taking 1 heart per hit. You could recognize a morphus by the moaning it makes if you get too close.

Not very scary sounding. It's dark, and there are things that move faster than you, but it still seems rather... tame. Also, what is the point of a specter? It doesn't really seem to do anything.
I think this'd be better as a lower level of the nether, found by digging down into the nether (maybe also through nether caves?) I feel like making an entirely new world just for this would be kind of redundant.
I like the ideas though, I do think it could go well as a basement nether.

The Nyx is a large desolate wasteland that constantly snows. you cannot place Torches and lava in this place or it will instantly turn into obsidian (lava only) and the torches will turn into a glass like form of the torch, breaks like glass.
if you are not wearing armor in this wasteland you will die slowly and also be slowed down by 25%.
Chillstone could also slow you down like Soul sand.
Gravi-stone doesn't seam to fit.
Death-gel sounds weird, maybe rename it Grave-slush.
Mobs
Soul-Hound: has 3 hearts, they are very common and are in packs of 2-5. they look like wolfs with frozen blackish blue fur.
Nyxian: has 10 hearts, uncommon. they act a lot like the zombie pigman but look like slightly transparent humans. they carry Iron Weapons.
Tainted-one: has 15 hearts, they are very very rare. shoots balls of black icy darkness, if it hits you then you will be slows. 5% chance to in-case you in ice for 2 seconds.
The way you make the portal could be changed. maybe like the nether portal but made of that new ore (lupus i think its called?)

Well, the nether is more of the land of twilight, as light travels twice as far then in the regular world.
I guess, since the nether is more annoying then scary, i thought a more fearsome realm would be nice :biggrin.gif:
