I find that redstone is a ore that when you get into the game you can have chests full of so why not allow players to make tools and armour with it.I suggest that you could make it using the redstone blocks.It could allow players to interact with redstone for example when right clicking a piece of redstone.
It would be cool to have like diamond armour that was covered in gold or something which would have better enchant ability!
That means if you like red but like using diamond because of defence you can all ways plate it with redstone.The crafting recipe would have the desired armour and the type of plating wanted.(sorry for not being more clear about this...)

I dont like the suggestion, but i think Mojang should do new armor tiers and tools, but redstone NO.

Most new armor tiers are usually hated, so I'd get a mod to lock this as soon as possible to save your self confidence.

No way; it would be like worse than wood - redstone is a dust and is too common (by far the most common ore when mining at diamond level due to being nearly as common as coal and the drop rate) to make tools/armor with any benefit over wood/leather, not like wood/leather are that good either; most people only make a wooden pickaxe and entirely skip leather armor in favor of stone tools and iron armor respectively.
Mojang's stance on no new tiers is pretty valid as well; there relaly isn't any room for new tiers unless you, for example, make something with more durability than diamond (which I would use, even if other stats weren't as good), but anything that is faster/does more damage/offers more protection is overkill (some people even say iron/diamond is already overkill).
What about if Redstone armor was low grade in terms of defense...but actually transmitted a signal? Those who wore Redstone armor could trigger objects manipulated by Redstone...allowing people to make machines that actually require a mobile, human, component. I'm sure there could be some sort of practical application for something like this...anyone good with Redstone have a little imagination to answer that question?

Redstone dust is just that. A dust. How would you make armor from a dust....
Using the blocks. That doesn't mean I support the idea, though. I'd like gear that is colored red (doesn't have to be good, I just want it to look awesome) but this just doesn't make sense. Redstone is for machinery, not gear. As Tenebrae said, redstone gear that powers redstone might be cool. I'd rather have an entity that does it instead though, which I have suggested multiple times. Once as a minecart with a redstone block in it and once as a weighted redstone block that is effected by gravity.
