And thus is where you go wrong.
It doesn't need to be hyper-realistic. We could rename them, if need be.
But we need a block between iron and diamond, and this fits the bill.
I don't know. If its as common as coal, strong as iron, and has double the durability it completely makes iron useless for tools. If iron was made a bit more durable than bronze, then it would be perfect.

I'd put down a sign beside it with some nice comment to poor Hope and go on my way. I wouldn't want to be rude, after all. Respect the dead!
Daniel Smith, I love the mod. I tried to do something like this myself, well, I even started the topic earlier than you I think, but my one was a WIP and I'm not good at coding :/
To make it a bit less overpowered, how about you first have to smelt enough copper and tin to make a block of each, then combine that? (9 copper + 9 tin = 1 bronze).

If facebook, Myspage, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
Going back to mario-man's idea, we could put tin and copper on the crafting bench together to create some sort unified copper-tin item, which can be then smelted into bronze, this of course is to save programming time.

I like this idea.
The original one; Two easy ores to make something twice as durable as Iron, pretty much making each ore worth the same as Iron in tools? No thanks...
This is a brilliant idea, although instead of changing furnaces is should be something like to make furnaces;
[]
as an example.
Edit:
Or smelting 1 ore makes a another one (refined ore?) and then that is combined with the other ore type (crafting bench) witch makes a combined ore then smelt that?
Firstly, Bronze is weaker than Iron. By a longshot. There is no gap between stone and iron tools, no niche to fill. It is completely illogical for it to be stronger than Iron.
That is a common misconception. bronze is STRONGER than iron. However STEEL is stronger than bronze.
anyway i think you should get 2 bronze ingots from 1 pair of tin/copper so it's a fair trade (2 ores=2 ingots)

I noticed alright. It's why I came here.
I do maps and stuff.
I'm all for copper btw. Not just for pipes and stuff, but also to use as blocks just like iron and gold. Polished copper IRL is quite nice IMO.

Hey. Thats a good advertising technique!
This isn't a mod it is a suggestion.
Double furnace? No.... The idea "changes" the furnace so it has 2 slots instead of one.
Bronze is absolutely terrible to use for anything besides art and thermodynamic use.
If this were to ever be done, Bronze would only be slightly better than Stone. =\
This signature was scared away by creepers, please check another time.
how can Notch have left copper and tin out?! >:|
I, sjotrik, give a thumbs up for this idea. :biggrin.gif: *thumbs up*
...what? Did you expect something funny?
I like this idea.

I really, really want the multismelting thing though. You could smelt Gravel and Sand together to make concrete bricks, maybe?

Bronze/tin + =refined bronze
Bronze + Tin= bronze
bronze + = 2 bronze Ingots (Changed to 2, thanks Azasoth)
