I think it would be a cool idea too add special mobs that spawn only in certain biomes, like having scorpions in the desert, bears in the forest, alligators/crocodiles in swamps, wolves in the tundra, lions in savannas etc.
It would give more of a difference between biomes (besides snow and tree-growth-rates) and give more insentive to expand your minecraft world
also it would be nice to have a breathing apparatus for underwater exploring.... just a thought
I have no idea if this has been suggested before, but WE NEED THIS!!! Also, maybe ogres in swamps as well (SHREK!)? They should also have unique drops. Wolves drop fangs or furs, bears drop claws or furs, alligators drop scales and HARD leather (which can be made into better leather armour, and is in between chainmail and leather), and lions drop fur and claws and fangs, and ogres drop clubs (and can destroy blocks, and are HUGE)
Uses for unique items: If you craft a claw or fang with a sword, it will be "reinforced" (repaired and lasts longer). For furs, they'll make armour, but the armour will just be used to keep warm (if something that makes it so that you need to keep warm gets implemented).
^^ I like the ogres in swamps! Maybe they could also have occasional little villages, being one of those NPC villages or something? And they should be big, like 3 or 4 blocks tall.
But mobs aboveground in general should be less abundant, but maybe not confined to night. So maybe you could get systems of stronger nocturnal mobs, and weaker but still hostile daytime mobs (or maybe territorial, defensive, or occasional/group hunters.)
So, here go the ideas: Wolves/Jackal Appearing in plains and tundra, maybe in sparser forests (dry, mixedleaf, and taiga.) Drops pelts, which can be used to make armour (a different looking leather armour.) Maybe arctic-skinned ones in the tundra, and Jackals acting similarly but spawning in deserts. Spiders: Maybe appearing occasionally in denser forests, such as rainforests, but mostly being stuck into caves. Still drops string. Deer/Gazelle: Appearing in plains and sparser forests. Should drop meat. Will run away from the player when approached. Deer are in more temperate areas, gazelle warmer ones. Bison/Cape Buffalo Appearing in plains, territorial mob that drops meat and maybe leather. Maybe Cape buffalo are a warmer variant? Buffalo/Yak:Reskins of cows, Buffalo appearing in warmer plains and Yaks in colder areas. Also, the entire base family drops meat as well as leather (and being milkable.) Bear: Aggressive mob that drops pelt upon death. Found in temperate forests. I was thinking that pandas and polar bears might be interesting additions to the game, but I feel like it could send and off message to have endangered species as killable mobs in the game (same with elephants and rhinos.) Yeti: Mob occasionally spawning in snowy, high mountain areas. Possibly agressive, possibly defensive but strong. Goblins: Appearing in regions of cave, possibly hostile NPC village mobs, only spawning in and around caves (but not mining them.) They'd be small and not very strong, but would have simple armour and weapons. Elephant: Territorial mob appearing in herds in warm areas. Hard to kill, does a lot of damage. Maybe wooly mammoth variants that spawn in the tundra/cold seasonal plains. Not sure on drops (ivory? But what does it give the player?) Rhino: Very territorial mob appearing in similar areas to elephants. I feel like they could be similar, maybe with Rhinos just a different mob variety of Elephant. Maybe leather or ivory? (maybe not ivory for previously mentioned conservation reasons.) Golems: Hostile mobs made of rock, maybe appearing in deep caves. Ice golems could be frozen varieties, spawning in very cold biomes (glaciers and snowy wastelands.) Not sure on drops. Crabs:Underwater mob seen on deeper ocean floors. Maybe drops meat or something?

Maybe the golems should drop diamonds and stone? Also, you should only be able to kill them with gold pickaxes or diamond pickaxes (or swords of either variant)

As it stands now, I'd call clay a good drop. But hopefully clay gets fixed soon so maybe it could just be rock, or something magical like a golem's eye.
Killing them with pickaxes would be cool. It would be fitting with both golems and the caves they could inhabit.
yah sarry, it has ben suggested before, alot. before i was on the form everyday (like when i had 2 posts) i almost suggested moon phases, then used serch and found there was like 5 or 6 of th topic
